Actually, I wonder if will-in-estoril is a Nationwide plant, here to encourage their loss-making member to burger off.

Their real loss making came about by their loss making fixed rate mortgages, it seems that their other customers are expected to subsidise this very poor management decision.

Seeing as they are closing all the Agency outlets it becomes more of a No NO for a/c holders to bank with them !
Ours will be closed and the nearest N/wide is a 36 mile round trip !
    Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Nationwide !
    A Bast**d I May Be ! I Was Born One !
    Whats Your Excuse ?
  • I recall Nationwide used to make prominent use of the slogan "Proud to be different".

And that slogan doesn't seem to appear in their ads any more.

although judging by the current state of the website, I think "different" must mean "broken"

In fairness to Nationwide, it is a pre-warned, planned outage... although knowing that, you would think they could have put up a "back soon" notice, rather than let their visitors hit a broken page.

I have also voted with my feet and left Nationwide :j. Got fed up of their double standards, claiming they are building society but behaving like a bad bank.

In fact I would really like to know how much people withdrawing money abroad cost the society compared the HUGE bonuses the directors have received!

    Good bye Nationwide

I think it's gone from a planned outage to "oh crap we've just murdered the database"
