I'm in too! £1,000 for our Winter bills - extra gas, tv license, home insurance. Plus the C word! Not sure how we'll do it but heck, it's an incentive!

Wish it started today though as I logged into my banking and my balance is £2,300. Easy win :D Moved £1,300 into our home improvement account. £600 is ear marked for the bed and £250 is for 'fashion improvements' :A

    So we're starting tomorrow?

ETA: Just figured out I can change the account names on my banking. I think I might just title one 'The Challenge!' :D

Starting tomorrow - I will make us a big shiny post where I can put peoples updates and we can see how we're doing on the leader board.

Wow that's a healthy balance Cinny - how did youdo so well?

Okay, is it bad or wise that I'm thinking if both NIM and I are doing this challenge one of us should be 'saving' to pay back grandad and the expenses we know are coming up, while the other one should be paying it off a card? We need to save that mnoey too so I think realisitcally one of us will need to save £1000 and one of us will need to clear £1000.

Count me in too although I have a feeling I'll just be in the race to make up numbers! Especially 'till October, but it's worth a try! I think I'll try to set up an extra account and add any and all extras to it so I can keep an eye on how it's adding up rather than losing it all as usual!

Well done on the lottery win Poddle! :D
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

    I'm a fricking magician :D

Or, I snuck it from savings. The bed is ordered, came to £619 as I ordered some pillows too. Which means I have £230 for a little shopping spree! mwahah!

Hmm, I'm not sure about you both saving £1,000. Surely that'll take twice as long? Maybe save for expenses. Then we could always have a challenge take 2 where you could save for what you owe your Grandad? Unless he really needs the money?

Well we owe him it in 3 weeks when we go away. Two of us, therefore we need to make twice as much or its not fair on the challenge. It's all for a good cause anyway ie getting the debt cleared so I don't want to make it easy on us.

Going to go home and try to find where my ebay stuff has gone!

I could join the challenge in reverse, to see how quickly I could *spend* money!!! I forgot to budget for all these little bitty wedding things, arrrgh.
