That's a tough one CMD. All I can think is if that was OH we'd more than likely go for the working from home option. Like Dinah said, with a work log to show how his work wouldn't be effected by doing it from home. If the company he works for is horribly fond of your OH I'd also get him to drop in with his family moving back to Ireland he would have to look for another job if they couldn't offer him the flexibility
The bedroom things are up! My Brother came back from London early so helped me with the shelves. The room looks much better now, once we have our bed in there it'll be properly ready for company! Although I still don't know how OH will cope without his old old bed. Here's a picture. The brown walls are much more lovely in person!
Came home and my new steam cleaner had been delivered :j I say new, my old one broke quite quickly so they sent us a new one instead of repairing the old one. I best get a wiggle on though, pots to put away and OH's shirts to iron!0 -
Okay come clean! Who won the Euromillions???
It defo wasn't me - I just checkmy numbers. I wouldn't even mind the 1.7 million that 2 lucky UK people won for matching 5 numbers!

After all of the plans I'd made... I forgot to get a ticket!
I could have done with £1.7m never mind £160m-odd!
The bedroom looks good CinnyIt's giving me the decorating itch again, which is bad as I always get cross because we don't have the money to do everything I want to do right now!

Not me, I don't play unless it's tickets from Nannan! I think I'm just the pooper on this party, I really don't like the lottery.
Maybe you should just email Mr Lottery, and tell him how it's very unfair, you had plans, could he please try a little harder for you on the next one?0 -

I have a good mind to email him and tell him that he is ruining all muy plans!
Cinny - your bedroom looks great. I love the curtains. Is that your bedroom or the spare room? I have decorating envy too. Typical that I do a 1 year interior design course a couple of years ago and have no-where to practice it on. Even the place we own is rented out so can't practice on that!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Hehe good idea Cinny!
There was a programme on TV not so long ago about lottery winners, they have little lottery winner meet-ups to share their woes of being too rich and do charity work. There was a bloke who had bought a load of vintage Action Men and the narrator was taking the mickey a bit but all I was thinking was, 'Ooooh, I'd have a big pink Barbie Room, I don't care who thinks it's sad!'Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. I won, I won! £6.40
for 2 numbers and 1 lucky star. Shall I take the money or re-invest?
The bedroom looks nice Cinny. And no sign of your stockpile...! I want to do some fun decorating too, but our priority is replacing rubbish rubbish laminate in our lounge, but means we have to sort fireplace as well and we can't agree on what to do!LBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380 -

If you get the house in Ireland you'll be able to practice it there ready for your forever home! And thanks (to Birdie too!) I'm happy it just doesn't look like a bomb has hit it anymore. The curtains are from Argos, they need either lining or a blind put behind them as they're sodding useless really. But it would look worse without them up! It's our spare room though, ours is a bit bigger. With a milky coffee colour on 3 walls, and 1 in a nice plum purple. My Sister says I'm going to turn into a mix of Bree from Desperate Housewives on Monica from Friends once the house is how I want it. I already get teased for scrubbing my front door step and washing down the gas meter housing
But it gives a good house impression!
Poddle - I'd share before pictures too but it was my 'mess room'. You know how in Friends Monica's flat is spotless, but she has a closest just crammed with rubbish?Just like that.
And yay for winning! :j Re-invest, and go crazy with the 40p and buy some sour apple WHAM bars0 -
Ooooh your bedroom sounds like our second study, we have a coffee colour (I like it because it looks like Baileys) on 3 walls then a rich plum colour on the other wall. I love the feel of that room but it's more than a little warm in summer. I'm waiting for NIM to get a filing cabinet off a bloke at work and then I'm going to organise it as its a bit of a tip.
I have no idea if we won! The bloke at work who has the tickets is refusing to check them, he says we're impatient children and need to wait until lunchtime. Childishly I'm considering throwing things at him.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
Debt September 20th 2022 £2991.68- 96.92% paid off0
