Tch, men! I think that would have looked really nice Tete. You can still do something like that though without using photos from trips you went on together, my SIL has some amazing beach photos from every holiday she's been on (think her secret talent is taking pictures!) and she's going to frame them all and put them in her bathroom, it'll look like some fancy framed picture you'd buy! I love having photos about, if I had your talent I'd have the pictures all over the walls!

We don't have that many I don't think... about 4 scattered about the living room, plus a little canvas of OH doing his Rocky celebration in the kitcheny bit which is just funny. Then 1 in the hall and a 3-er in the bedroom of silly underwater pictures. Maybe they're just jealous that they're not as gorgeous as we are joke!

We don't have any - I find it uncomfortable having all those teeny faces starting at me with those static faces. Like your friend I've also found some people's homes a bit shriney when it's all of the same people, or just plain creepy when they have say a 3ft canvas of their baby over the fireplace. Damned picture is bigger than the child. I guess I just feel mostly those things are personal, so a few pics is fine, but I just get creeped out by the same people, the same poses, but different scenery all over a room.

I'd find it creepier if the faces moved, like in Harry Potter! :eek:

I don't really get it when people say that photos are too 'personal'... it's my house, of course it's personal! Although I do draw the line at giant canvases, I don't want to feel like the person in the picture could actually climb out of it and attack me... :eek:

I hate the giant canvases, especially if it's the couple having a snog - yuk! I'd hate having to look at myself that big every day!

I think it's when you're sat there, having a cuppa, and there are rows and rows of holiday shots in bikinis, and kissing shots, I just feel like I've intruded on their intimacy!

Having a rubbish day at work, disagreed with another officer so he yelled at me (and I still maintain he's wrong) and it's TOTM so I feel all weepy anyway. So I ate 4 biscuits and now feel like a pig.

Yeah, I'd hate that too (the snogging canvas!)! We've got some wedding photos of us kissing (not on display!) and I don't like them, it's a bit too intimate for my liking.

ETA: We're definitely not that bad Dinah! Only some fully clothed photos of us being nice, one photo is from the back too...

Sorry about the sucky day on top of feeling weepy, positive side is that it'll be over soon! Not very professional to be yelled at over a work disagreement though, I'd not be happy about that at all!

I dont think its wierd Birdie, and like you say its your home so of course its going to be personal!
Agree about the big canvas pictures though, I dont like them.

We have a couple of pictures of us in the house then some of family. There are a few more of my side than OHs but I think thats because I dont see my family as much as OH does so I like to have some photos around. As OH says he sees his sisters annoying face most days what does he want to look at her when hes at home for :rotfl:

We also have two of OHs photography on small canvas pictures.

I personally find it a bit wierd when people just keep their houses as blank canvases and dont personalise it at all.

We might have one or two pictures when the house is finished, but there is no point accessorising right now. We did get a lovely frame from NIMs dad's gf for our wedding which it would be nice to use. My one major no no is no pictures in the guest room - I don't like to feel watched when I sleep! We have a lot of art though, which I think says more about us than anything else, and I'd rather look at it than my own ugly mug! Maybe this is a confidence thing?!
