Haha would have thought he would have recognised your bum!
Yeah if the story goes on the website I will. That's the idea - the walkers sleep on the road and the drivers sleep whilst we walk, it's as much an endurance challenge for them really. We have to do one hour in the dark, coming down from Ben Nevis. We start BN about 6pm on the Friday, then Scafell Pike about 6am Sat, then Snowdon about 2-3pm Sat, arriving back home 36 hours after we set offWeightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Would love to see photos of you in the BM dress Birdie. Can you send me a link?
I don't think OH will go for it. It would be amazing money but the wrong time for us with the baby coming along. If nothing comes of the other job and we are still in the UK this time next year (when my mat leave runs out) then we will consider him doing contract work and me moving back to Ireland with the babies.
The money is so tempting though, the debts would be paid off in no time and we could save for a deposit for a house in Ireland.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

That's hardcore Tete! But sounds promising
You've got a couple of weeks to go - are you supposed to train in the run up or rest for a couple of weeks beforehand like with a marathon?
Lol Birdie at your hubby - he'd have been in trouble if it hadn't been you! We also went to a wedding this weekend - really lovely, beautiful sunshine and nice to catch up with lots of old friends
ALSO we have sort of been secretly planning our own wedding, but we popped into Birmingham's jewellery quarter on the way home and I'm now the proud owner of a very beautiful diamond and 'official' fiance. We've already set the date and booked the venue! Exciting:j
So I shall probably be asking lots of advice from all of you and cluttering up Dinah's thread with links and confessions of my MSE (and not-so-MSE) spends
Lara, do post your dress links, please! Only a couple of months to go for you?!
CMD, I agree with Birdie - it seems like a great offer and 6 months will fly by, but really tough only to see your OH at weekends, especially with (almost) two children. It sounds like you have a fantastic support network in Ireland though. What does he think about it?LBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380 -

Oh wow - congrats Poddle. That is wonderful news. Any chance of a photo of the ring? I love a bit of bling!!! When are you getting married?
I think OH thinks the money is amazing and our support network in Ireland is fantastic but he worries about missing out so much on the babies when they are young. He has a fantastic bond with Max and is very hands on with him so I would also worry about the effect it would have on Max.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

I'll send you a FB link tonight CMD
That sounds like a really tough endurance test for all involved Tete, I'm very proud of you for getting involved!
Wouldn't you be able to live part-time in Germany with your OH CMD? Like, every other week maybe, so that Max and the bump still get plenty of daddy time? Seems like a great opportunity to earn a load of money and experience a different culture, will look good on his CV too
Major Congratulations on the engagement Poddle! Really happy for you, I second the request for a photo of the 'Bling'!when and where is the wedding? Don't tell me, you've already gone and bought a dress with an internal corset, fiddly zipper, ginormous skirts and lots of teeny buttons! :rotfl:

Living in Germany every other week is a very good suggestion Birdie but I think the logistics of travelling with 2 young babies would probably be a nightmare. I couldn't travel with both anyway til Max was 2. I must look up flight prices.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Aw thanks! I will take some photos of the ring tonight - it is way more blingy than I thought I'd like, but I LOVE it!
Lol Birdie, I will bear all your experience in mind when buying dresses! And I should monitor my bridesmaids' weights by the sounds of it

It might not be as difficult as it sounds - it's only a short flight and you could coordinate flights with your OH so at least you wouldn't have to do it single-handed!
What are his working hours like at the moment? Does he see a lot of Max during the week? I know some parents only see their children v briefly before they leave for work and then they're asleep by the time they get home. I know it's not ideal; as you say it would be great financially but even if it's not right now, there'll be other opportunities in the future which might be perfect. It must be a tough decision though, when the money's so tempting
ETA: Thanks CMDcrossed post again...

PS. Dinah, meant to say, SO exciting about the company launch! Will you have a distributor or supplier? I was in 2 shops today which would be perfect stockists, but they're local (Brighton) chains. Let me know if you'd like me send you the detailsLBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380
