Went and got 6 of the Tesco meal deals - I can't believe how big the bits of chicken are! I've got a piece for my tea - no need for sides and pudding!

List for tonight will be starting soon, only just got home and need to eat first.

    NIM smells of Polos?? :rotfl:

Dinah, that's so cool about your business launch. Afraid I am another Twitter twit.

Tete, that is TERRIBLE that you wouldn't want to date someone who's shorter than you!! It's the personality and chemistry that counts. But then I am a very small person (at 5'3") so I have to stick up for the leprechauns amongst us :P I once dated a guy who was 6'3", kissing involved a sore back for him, and a sore neck for me. It was never destined to work out.

It's my last day at university and tomorrow is my last day of fieldwork yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!! Then I have the whole weekend off. Shopping and Kampala hen party on Friday, going to the posh hotel swimming pool on Saturday, on Sunday going to do a horseback safari to see the source of the River Nile. It's a proper holiday - I'm so excited :j

OH always laughs when he remembers about the time his best friend, who is 6'5, dated a girl taller than him, in heels she was about 6'8... nearly a foot taller than OH! Poor lass, I've always wanted to be a bit taller but never that tall!

Your holiday sounds amazing Lara, get lots of photos for us!

Hope the list went well last night Dinah :)

Aww NIM, there are definitely worse things to smell of than polos!!

Lara at 5'3" you're in no position to judge!! There aren't many men you can stand next to and feel beefier than they are! How exciting (and sad) that you're nearly done in Kampala! Plenty to look forward to though :)

Can I do a little plug here for my Race for Life page? - I will be attempting to run 5k this Saturday - previous personal best is only 3.6k, been blighted by colds and painful knees the last few weeks, but still hoping to run/jog the whole way - I know it's a debt board but if anyone can spare a couple of quid I'd really appreciate it!

Big big thank you to Poddle who already made a very generous donation! :kisses3:

How did you get on with the mammoth list Dinah? Six meal deals!? How much grocery budget it left?

I pulled into my street last night and when I braked my car started making a noise like spades being scraped along the pavement! Dad is taking it to the garage today for me, bless him, fingers crossed it's not as bad (or expensive) as it sounds!

    How's everyone this morning?

    Still makes me feel old.

My minimal understanding of cars suggests that you need new break pads, twill be the pins for the pads on your discs, had it with the Alfa. Hey I'm a real bloke now I can diagnose car issues :j:j
This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.

Hopefully just a slipped or worn break disk, shouldn't be too expensive.

I have your race for life page open on my computer, only paid from work at 4am today though so will be making a little donation this evening :)

6 meal deals was £60 off the budget! But should get nearly £40 back again, and I have to say I actually think it's a great deal. The filled chicken we got is huge - I have no need for a side with it and I was stuffed, so tbh while it's not ideal we won't cry if we don't get the vouchers back, it seems worth it! The puddings on offer were poor though, we ended up getting 2 sides instead of a side and pudding most of the time - just got NIM a few lemon tarts which are not tart enough for me.

We won't mention the mammoth list! I got about 4 things done actually, the important business stuff got done and thats what matters. The money stuff didn't though, so you'll have to wait a bit longer for a money update Cinny.

If height is important I have two 6" friends Tete, but I don't think either of them would suit you peronsality wise. One is all about the gym and appearances, spends money as fast as it comes in, the other is absolutely lovely, really funny, but you'd certainly never feel beefy next to him, and he wants kids desperately but doesn't like marriage. I think the guy with 100% of the package doesn't exist outside of the movies. While I bet we all love our OHs to bits, if we had the choice there would be some little thing we'd change, even if its for their benefit not ours. Bit taller, thinner, older, younger, better established in their career, not loosing their hair, has less debt, less tight with money, more sociable, opens up about emotions easier, helps more around the house, less afraid of commitment, drinks less, better temper, doesn't smoke, makes more time to see you .... I could go on and on but eventually I think its a bit like AA, you learn to accept the things you can not change, and maybe even love those things too. Ofc if your OH has all of these its probably time to look for a new OH!

Payday today! And my first event! Feeling happy.

    Museum exhibition launch.

Going to the DVLA this afternoon to try and talk about my lack of tax disk, starting to get concerned that come Wednesday I'll be solely reliant on the train as we won't have a car!

Does that mean I'm a real bloke too?! I'll second thinking it's the brake pads. Sounds just like the noise Greg started making. Only I put up with the noise for 3 weeks until I gave in and order the new pads :o They're really easy to replace on your own though, we did it in like, 15 minutes. And now he stops me :T Although I do miss the thrill of wondering if he'd stop in time at the bottom of the big hill this village's on :D

I'll have a sift through my accounts this evening and see if there's anything I can donate Tete. We're on a tight budget but I do believe you should always give, no matter how little it is. Did you know some Americans have cash donations to local causes high up on their monthly budgets, and give it the same importance as their grocery money?! Even when they're clearing debts, or so I've heard. I thought that was really lovely.

You... you promised! :( Your word is worthless to me now!

I suppose the height thing wouldn't matter if you were to fall hopelessly inlove with the person, but I can gather why it'd be off putting to start with. My Sister is the same, after her Ex had such a problem with him being smaller than her. She's got a date with a guy tonight after his concert and she was in such a flap as what to wear as they're the same height, she only has heeled shoes and didn't want to tower him.
