All good reasons to be in a good mood Dinah! The sunshine really does good things to the spirits!
Lara, just remind your Mum that you could have chosen to get married in Kampala so she's got off lightly with London!
I've realised that I'm really going to have to become 'cooler' about IT in my job. I'm not used to programming and whatnot and I have no real idea how computers work so when I type in a little command on a blank screen and something works I'm like, 'Oh my word, that's amazing!!!!'... people are starting to think I'm odd/simple! It pleases me that I still see the magic in technology when all these people have long since lost my innocent eyes! Job's been going slightly better this week after had a word with my boss last Friday saying that I was bored and wanted to be more involved; I've been given a couple of 'simple' projects to work on which are pretty interesting to a noob like me but totally boring to everyone else who doesn't think that computers are run by magical elves! The MD came and gave us a trading update yesterday and he's quite a sexy guy for a man of a certain age... I came over a bit unnecessary! In July we're getting a marquee at the races with free drinks and a hog roast as a thank you for all of 'our' hard work... that's nice! I wonder if Mr Sexy MD will be joining us...:oOvercome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Afternoon everyone
Had another hospital appointment this afternoon and blood pressure has gone back up a bit which is good, the rest is obviously doing me good! Hopefully it will continue to go up over the next few days and I will be ok to go back to work on Monday.
Dinah - I want to pick your brains. I remember you saying about commuting to work and petrol prices, if you dont mind me asking; how many miles do you have to do a day and on average how much do you spend on fuel? I know obviously it vaires depending on car etc,
The reason I ask is OH is being forced into a transfer at work which will be a 55 mile round trip instead of a 10 mile round trip
He's going to get a fuel allowance but I'm pretty sure it wont cover the extra costs.Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -
Hi Flower.
Our commute is a 68 mile round trip each day, which costs about £14. Dissapointed to see the clear debt before baby is born now has a question mark after it!
Ask and ye shall receive - just had an email off Quidco for 20% off B & Q. Only this weekend though and the money won't be in the account until after the 20th, so don't think we'll be able to make use of it.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I'm still hopeful! But have decided its not the end of the world if the debt isnt completely gone by then.
Got too many other things to be stressing about at the minute :rotfl:
Fingers crossed we wont be too out of pocket with the fuel thing then, think hes going to be getting £5 per shift he works and the rest he has to cover himself. Will have to see how it goes I guess!Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -
Good to hear your blood pressure is on its way up Flower!0

:rotfl: I love your 'came over a bit unnecessary'A few months ago I was at work and I was admiring (:p) this older guy that kept looking at me, then he was like 'do you recognise me? I know your Dad from way back.' *cringe*
Good news about the surprise money CMD! I wish I could have a surprise bit of money!
Glad to hear your blood pressure has gone up a bit Flower, keep taking it easy
Dinah you're doing amazing with ebay! I reckon I'm gonna do a carboot in the summer. It's much more my style (lazy..) than taking pictures and posting stuff!
Lara I really feel for you, I tend to try and accomodate everyone then feel bad when someone kicks up a fuss. I do think NIM's suggestion would work though.. you'd only need to do it once I reckon for your Mum to get the message! Then follow it up with the flowers and cardTotal Debt (Dec 2015) £11,500 : Currently £7,675Lose 21lb : 0/21

Nice days all round! Dunno what to do regarding my Mum, thanks for the advice though CMD and NIM. I think I'm going to have to preserve the status quo as I am already a bit stretched being in Uganda. When I get back I'm just going to ignore everything and enjoy being back with Paul.

Oooh check me, I'm a blogger!
Check you indeed! How excitingI'm thinking about compiling my 101 list, and as Tete said it's quite reassuring to see that I've done lots of stuff from the 'most popular' things. Though I went to give blood today but couldn't donate due to low iron - I feel so rejected!
Flower, good news that your blood pressure's sorting itself out, but what a pain that your OH has to transfer.
Hurrah for surprise money indeed CMD :T you'll definitely be below target now - has it changed your mind about your work situation?
Dinah, are you sure you can't get to B&Q this weekend? It looks like if you spend over £100 this weekend (and get 20% off) you receive a 10% discount card. I like the ideas for your garden - ours is just a bit of a mish mash. My OH wants to plant our veg in with the normal flower beds - I'm horrified! Normally I'm quite laidback, but in this case I want a dedicated veg plot with straight lines and little labels!
Lara, that's totally the right attitude - enjoy Kampala and look forward to spending some time with your future hubby when you get back.

I realised yesterday my proposed garden design is basically a classic roman garden! A bit odd in the English suburbs but hopefully it'll be nice. Any idea how long the 10% discount card lasts? That would be a huge boon to us to get one of those if it lasts a few months. We can certainly get there, I'm just not sure if we have the £100 - still waiting on the £350 out of my ISA to arrive. She said 7-10 days - today is day 8, do you think she meant working days?Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
