Of course not Wendz, it's a very exciting time!
Being a money dreamer today. The house I wanted to buy and renovate has sold (not just under offer, but completely sold!) so I've been looking for more bargains. There is a flat with sea views in a desirable town near here for £70,000, would be a great BTL or holiday let.
Nearly finished my business plan. Very determined that its all getting dropped off with the council in the morning, I'll be so annoyed if after all this work I don't get a grant as I'm employed!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Congrats on being an Auntie CMD, a cousin to play with for Max too
I went to Ibiza but waswhen i was 11 so can't remember too much. We stayed in Es Cana.
2 more weeks at work for me now yay, is it wrong to be so excited ?
Thanks Wendz. All is going very well for them.
Of course you should be excited. Your life is about to change in the most amazing way. I can't even begin to describe it, but it is brilliantTotal (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

The potential BTL sounds great Dinah. I am sure you will do your homework with regards the rental market there.
Hope you get the business plan done tonight!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

The flat with sea views sounds great as rental. Would you be able to afford to buy something else?
Hope the business plan gets you a grant.0 -
Aye a £70k place wouldn't really eat into anything, we'd be able to get another do-er upper for us for a similar price to this one - from recent sold figures around here if we sold this one we should walk away with about £65k equity to reinvest to the next one - £14k deposit on that seafront one and £51k deposit and doing up money for our family house would do me very nicely
Shame it'll be gone long before we can get this one finished.
Just come back from sunday dinner with mum and dad. About an hour left to do on the business plan but I'd really rather be curled up with a movie! I know I'll feel a weight off my mind once it's in though.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Congratulations on being an auntie CMD! Have you found out her name now?!
I hope you enjoy your last 2 weeks of work Wendz, try not to get too much work actually done though! I think you’re quite right to be excited, you’re going to have a beautiful little girl soon… I’m so jealous!
The house(s) plan sounds like a god one Dinah. If you get a sea front house as a holiday rental I’ll stick a poster on my work notice board, bit of free advertising! How are things going with your house, getting closer to finishing?
McFly were awesome on Saturday night! We’re starting to feel our age though, at the end of it my friend said, ‘Ooooh me back’s aching’ to which I replied, ‘I can’t feel my feet and my ears are humming!’, my other friend just said ‘What?!’ :rotfl: I was wearing my kick-a$$ hat that I got the last time I saw them and one of the bar people mocked me for it, how rude!
Not impressed by how much the merchandise cost though considering the target age group is teenagers, t-shirts and vests were £22, hoodies were £50 and a 4-pack of badges cost £20! Needless to say I bought nothing! Also, does anyone know why they (MEN Arena) wouldn’t give me the lid to my bottle of water?! The lady took the lid off and gave me the bottle, I asked for the lid so I wouldn’t spill and she said I wasn’t allowed!

Morning Birdie. Hope the weather is as nice with you as it is with us! I do have a name for my niece- Freya. I love it - very girlie
Glad you had a good time at McFly but wow the merchandise was expensive! Glad you resisted the temptation. How is your new job going - are you a bit busier?
I have decided to stick mine out and try and take the earliest mat leave possible (and hopefully some annual leave before that).
Dinah - if you make that profit that is fantastic. I hope it all works out for you.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Ooh Freya is a lovely name CMD.
Birdie, I think they take the lids off so you can't use the bottle as a projectile, you know if they were really bad and you wanted to chuck the bottle at them (actually have seen McFly and loved them)!0 -
It is beautiful here CMD, I was boiling by the time I got to work, set off walking all bundled up assuming that the sunshine was a trick like it was last week but it’s actually warm and sunny for the first time this year!
I love the name Freya, it’s so pretty!I had it on my list of names for our one-day baby but OH isn’t keen, but he’s not keen on anything that isn’t a total classic, if it’s not the name of one of Henry VIII’s wives or daughters, he doesn’t think it’s a viable option! You should have seen his reaction when I said ‘How about Ava or Evelyn?’ he thought I was just making up words! :rotfl:
My new job is still boring as heck; I’m forever getting told I’ll have something to do ‘soon’ which is just plain frustrating. My boss is just ignoring me all day, she can’t even be bothered to get me to shadow someone, and when I brought it up everyone just looked away and mumbled about not having the time to show me anything. Nice. On Friday I got talking to the other ‘new’ guy on the team who started before Christmas and he was sympathising with me as he said he went through the same thing, but it wasn’t too bad for him since he has experience in the field so picked up the work himself, I can’t even do that! My boss gave me something ‘simple’ to do on Wednesday but didn’t show me how to do it so I had to make myself sound really stupid asking her question after question, which is pretty darned demoralising I’ll tell you! Especially coming from a job where I was the one who knew all the answers! I keep telling myself that it’s only for a year, as soon as my shares mature I can get out!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
That kind of profit would be pretty fantastic Dinah! And a holiday house would be equally fantastic too. I really hope it isn't too long until you get the house ready to sell.
Birdie - I'm going to sound so old now but they cost so much because kids get too much pocket money these days *oldtimer* OHs little Sister is JLS obsessed, goes to every concert when they're in Sheff and buys all the hoodies ect. I just sit there thinking 'You're 14, how do you have so much money?!'
Freya is a lovely name CMD! And a late congrats from me for being an Auntie. Hope your Sister's okay too!
Am I the only one who finds picking girls names hard? I've got 5 boy names that I love (Ralph, Jack, Vincent, Alfred and Mike) but couldn't pick a girls name to save my life. I mean, I like Ivy but thats for a tall, skinny, hippy kind of kid and I don't think me and OH would be able to make one of those :undecided I do worry about odd things sometimes.0
