I just really feel compelled to do something to help, I've made a donation myself but it was only very small so maybe I can try to raise money in another way. Everyone in my office put £2 in for the euromillions today, so surely they can give £2 easily enough. It's a shame my boss doesn't like me and I'm so scared to ask her though!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Lol she sits 4m away so she'd think me a bit odd! I plucked up the guts and asked her, and the two building managers, and they were all very supportive. So Thursday here I come.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

It's crazy. I know Japanese people are generally quite put together but despite all the news I've watched I've only seen one person crying and screaming. And even then it was only a young girl. It's horrible, you can't even imagine can you? It's like that baby that was found under the rubble, sure it's amazing they managed to save her but how many more people are just laid there waiting?! Then I make myself feel worse by thinking of all the pets (well, bar fish. Bet they were having a whale of a time) and wildlife. Ghmpghf. Then there's some crazy b*tch saying how amazing God is for killing all the atheists by causing it. Frick, I'm depressing! :rotfl:
All I logged on to say was good luck to the bake sale as well! But yeah, good luck!!0 -
Fantastic idea to have a bake sale Dinah, hope it goes well! All that baking will be a nice distraction from the nasty sounding financial forecast too!
I'm another one who can't quite get their head around what's happened (happening) in Japan, it's just insane. Total towns obliterated, aircraft and boats dumped on top of buildings like toys and goodness knows how many people waiting to be rescued like Cinny said.
On a chirpier note, I found this seller on etsy last night and thought it'd amuse you girls, I really want to learn how to cross stitch well so I can make this sampler!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
That is a great idea Dinah, hope you manage to raise lots of money. Bake sales at our work always go well!0

Good on you, Dinah, it's just nice to feel that you're doing something, no matter how small, in such a devastating situation. I just find myself glued to the news - like Birdie says, it's just insane.
Sorry that your financial forecast is giving you grief, I'm sure all your hard work will pay off. I'm finding that everything's an uphill struggle at the moment, but we're ploughing on!
Glad all is well with the baby, Wendz. Are you on maternity leave now? Hope you get chance to put your feet up a bit before baby makes an appearanceLBM Sep 2008 debt: £27,927.04start weight: 140.2, week 2: 1380 -
Financial forecast is finished! Well except the fact that NIM set it up so that my total column changes to say the words 'you broke it' if I do something wrong... guess what it currently reads! Waiting for him to come back from football and fix it.
NIM had the brainwave of asking Tesco if they'd donate the baking ingredients - and if we write a letter to them explaining what we're doing then it looks like they will! Which is fantastic.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Why are people so unwilling to chance their arm in this country as a general rule? If ya don't ask you will not get. Even martin says you should do it, in his own way but I think this was a pretty Money Saving approach to it all...doesnt martin have a board for "I got something from a big store for free" stories? This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.:j:j:j:j0
