On the topic of baby names, I sometimes worry that 6 months isnt enough time for OH and I to agree on any baby names :rotfl: so far we have disagreed on everything. I really like Ruby for a girl, but it would sound rediculous with OHs surname. I told him if it was a girl she could have my surname - you should of seen the look of horror on his face :rotfl:

With good reason flower, if he needs to learn to clean a shotgun to scare boyfriends into treating her right the least he deserves is for her to have his surname :p
This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.

How are things going with your house, getting closer to finishing?

It's not getting further away... but closer would be a bit of a stretch! I think we've hit a psychological wall - if we could make another big push and get the floor down in the lounge and the fireplace finished, maybe even the fire in, then touching up a bit of paint and replacing the last few doors wouldn't seem so bad. We could do with NIM doing the staircase before we get the floor in the lounge laid, but he just doesn't have the time. Maybe there'll be a little time to get it done this weekend? I keep having lovely dreams where I come back from the weeks holiday in April and the house is finished and sparkling. I need more exciting dreams!

3 days to payday, looks like we'll limp there in the end. Next month might be easier, as we'll need less petrol as I'm off for a week and we're doing this cupboard clearance food thing so only need milk, loo roll, basic veg etc, but I think when I had that chest infection I was on half pay so that'll be my wages down by about £300.

I think we've made about £320-£330 for Japan which is fantastic, going to the bank today to get some bags to put the £150 or so of change into!

Also need to find some spending money and the money to actually pay for these few days with my friend, planning to put some serious time into ebay this week. It'd be great to clear the ebay room (only to be filled again by the ebay attic or ebay shed!)

Finally got my grant application in this morning, fingers crossed.

I already feel sorry for our one-day (hopefully!) daughter; can you imagine how hard it will be finding a boyfriend when your Dad is a member of the rugby club?! She’s going to have 30 massive stand-in Dads and big brothers scaring off all potential suitors! :rotfl: I have difficulty with girls names too though, I have no idea how we’d actually settle on one when the time comes. It’s such a big responsibility, get the wrong name and you could be scarring your child for life, Bo-Peep might be cute for a baby but she’s not going to be taken seriously as a doctor is she?! Whereas Maud is a sensible grown-up name but as a teenager no-one will want to party with Maud! So difficult to get a good balance!

Well done for raising so much money Dinah! Bummer about the half pay whilst you were ill though, hope it doesn’t cause too many problems. I’ve got my fingers crossed for your grant application!

Lol NIM knows all I expect is the house to be no worse than when I left, I certainly don't expect the decorating to have progressed!

Slow day at work and all my milk for my cereal escaped, so I'm going to be hungry by home time!

Do you not have communal office milk that you can sneakily 'borrow'?!

Hope work picks up for you soon Birdie.

I have major problems picking boys names. I could pick any amount of girls names though. And it's a shame cos I think baby number 2 is going to be another boy!

I love love love the name Alfie but OH hates it. He wants an Irish name if we have another boy. I do like some Irish names for boys but don't want one that everyone else has at home.
