Hmmm it is pretty odd being there on your own (it happened to my friend and me a couple of times when we used to go to the cinema every week and we'd end up going to see obscure films that no-one else wanted to watch because we'd seen everything else!) but at least you can spill popcorn all over yourself and no-one will see! You can also laugh like a loony and there's no-one there to smirk at you!

  • Is there not a little person in the film room who can see you though? Or is it all done by robots these days?

I don't actually know... I hope not because on more than one occassion I've been in an empty cinema with my mate dancing stupidly along to whatever music's been playing! :rotfl:

  • It's true, you're right. I want to force myself to go but I know I'll get there and feel lonely and a bit of a saddo with everyone else in groups/couples around me :(

How about, when I get paid next week, we can both go to the cinema, at the same time in separate cities, so if anyone looks at us we can say, well we're so important we've got virtual buddies in another city watching this movie with us ;)

<~~~ In the same boat as a cinema (and otherwise) Singleton btw lol :)

Ahh I go to the cinema on my own when there's something I want to see. It's not weird :rotfl: but I'm always a bit annoyed I don't have someone to yak about it to afterwards...

Birdie that's great news about the job - big fingers crossed it's a done deal and something you'll really enjoy. And a pay rise :D

Will post cat pics on Sat.... Joy!

Birdie - exciting about the job, hope it is good news! Less than a month until your wedding, getting excited?

Lara - so exciting about the cat! Make sure you post a pic when you have it.

Not much news from me, except getting bigger and bigger haha.

How nice about the cat Lara, I hope you'll post pictures once he/she comes home!

The lady who interviewed me for the job I went for before Christmas has just rang and said that a second position has been approved and has asked me to go in on Monday to have another chat about it and that they're not advertising it yet... oooh that sounds quite promising I think! Fingers crossed they still like me!

Hope you're on the mend Swinstie, lurgy's no good!

Thats fantastic news Birdie, really hope you get it.

Oh I forgot the cat re-homing lady came around yesterday and judged us to be appropriate parents, so we're going to the shelter to get a cat on Saturday. I think it's probably the most exciting thing that's happened in my life for a few years!

Yey, so exciting, we want pictures!

Chatting to a colleague today about maternity off the back of Nick Clegg's scheme to share maternity leave with dads. Anyway, she was saying you get all kinds of working tax credit and other benefits when you're on maternity. I didn't think you would as technically we're still earning £28k even if we are in reality only on SMP. Would any of the privileged members of our very own Ultimate Baby and Bump club like to comment if they've gotten/are going to get extra help other than SMP while on maternity?

Someone at work is interested in the car, so that'd be good if it goes through.

Been looking at girlie holidays with a good friend tonight, we're planning to go very cheap and cheerful for a weke in April, looks like it might be spain for the price, but all that matters is we have a laugh really. Always wanted to go on a girlie holiday!

Girly holiday sounds good Dinah, my last attempt at one was when I was 18 and I didn't really enjoy it, but it was with the wrong group of girls I think! I've got 2 friends I'd love to go away with for a little holiday but I just can't afford it right now and one of the girls is starting a degree in March so won't be able to afford to go away for 3 years, which is when I plan to have a baby so I don't think it'll ever happen! :(

I am getting very excited about the wedding Wendz, only 23 days 'till we fly and 29 days 'till the wedding! :j Not that I've got a countdown in my diary or anything ;) Baby Wendz is arriving soon, are you all ready? Have you decided on a name? It's very exciting stuff! :D

Yep, I think a cheap week in the sun with the girls is just what you need Dinah - you've had such a hectic year!

I can't remember the last time anything happened that was exciting enough to write home about :o 2011 has been underwhelming so far, but I'm trying to create my own opportunities. I would love to get another kitty. Yay Lara, am very excited on your behalf :j

Tete, am quite envious of your photography course - is it expensive? I've been working my way through a brilliantly-named 'magbook' (is it a magazine? is it a book?) on digital photography, but just keen to get out and about more with my camera. Have you seen this genius idea?

Birdie, sounds v. promising about the job - you're having an insane time of it too! Fingers crossed for new job, new payrise etc in addition to nice new hubby and shiny wedding ring! Loved your hen photos :D Thought the makeup quite suited you...

How's everyone else? I seem to be getting bigger too, but not for the same reason as Wendz  Need to get my booty into some tracky bottoms sharpish! But the sun's out, hurrah!

I've never done a 'cheap' holiday before, I'm a little nervous but really looking forward to it. Same friend told me last night she's applied for a job in Germany, and I feel like an awful person for hoping she doesn't go, she's such a great thing in my life.

Having a bad day today, grans funeral is all settled for dads birthday (28th) and its like its just hit me that the person I knew is gone. Up until now it's been more like relief shes not stuck in a coma.

Also I asked my boss if i could use leave of absense rather than holiday time (a colleague got 2 days for his grandad) and she got really shirty with me and told me i had to ask the head of service. So i did, he was lovely and asked if i would like a full day not the half i had asked for, i said my boss wasnt keen i had it and i burst out crying on him. so its taken me an hour to calm down and get back to my desk.
