One holiday paid for £544 lighter for a long weekend in Madrid (10th till 13th Feb - Valentines weekend). Changed from "no frills" airlines to Iberia and BA so we could fly from Heathrow (Good old terminal 3). Have the car parking paid for as well. Less than £40. Used quidco so holiday should get me £19 in cashback and £2.88 for the parking so saved over £20.

I swear that hotel was on that Paul Merton program when he toured Europe on Channel 5. It looked amazing then and looks amazing now! That hotel looks amazing Poolie! Enjoy your holiday!
When did you meet Gok Wendz?!
I bet you're looking forward to seeing the back of this month Flower! It'll be great once your OH gets paid and you can get cracking with paying off your debts and having more of a life!
Swinstie, I don't envy you having jury duty! I've never done it and I don't really want to!
I went round to a friend's last night, the road outside her house was sneakily icy and I slipped when I got out of my car, one leg went left, the other went right and I ended up flat on my face in the middle of the road! Got bruises on my knees, elbows and hand and feeling very sore and sorry for myself today! Even had a little cry about it when I finally picked myself up and hobbled into her house!I'm such a wimp!
It's my Hen party next weekend, I can't believe how quickly that's snuck up on me! I'm very excited, we've got Golfer, Rock Star, Cheerleader, Ballerina, Hippy, Disco, 60's Mod and Glamorous Vintage Barbies! We'll all look ridiculous but it'll be so funny! :jOvercome the notion that you must be ordinary. I'd cry too Birdie that sounds painful.
Rice - I tend to get the pre cooked packs as I'm a bit scared of it after I got food poisioning, tilda pizzaz are on offer in Tescos, 2 packs for £2, half a pack is enough for a meal with some veg or meat and its only 125 cals and they have loads of flavours. Alternatively for evening meals when im eating it straight away i stir in some soy sauce and garlic and maybe spinach, or garlic and tomato puree, or some pre mixed spices (like moroccan or cajun mix), or i cook it in coconut milk rather than water.
Had a good 'money' lunchtime today - went to the opticians to get my form signed so i can claim the cost back for my eyetest from work, went and paid in NIMs dads cheque we got for Christmas, and went and checked my business account isnt being charged a monly fee (like the letter i was sent said i was) as it should be 18 months interest free. No spends but lots of positive action.
Not doing so well on £10 a day so far this month, need to check tonight but think I'm only at £7! Also I'm being so good on the food front, but so far I'm yet to see a loss at allAnd NIM snuck gu chocolate souffles in the trolley yesterday - which he suprised me with as he knows I love them, but he had completely forgot I was trying not to eat treats - so yummy but so tempting.

Birdie - it was at T4 on the beach last summer when i went with work, we went to ask for his autograoph and he was being very divaish.
Oww that sounds painful with the fall, I cried when I slipped a few weeks ago so don't worry!
Poolie - the hotel looks amazing, hope you have a great time.
Well done on the money and food Dinah, sounds like a very positive start to the year. Men always seem to forget you are on a diet and add treats.0 -

Yep, chin up til the end of January and you can start moving forward again! It's so frustrating when it feels like you're taking one step forward and two steps back. Cliched but true!
Swinstie, I don't envy you having jury duty! I've never done it and I don't really want to!
I always thought it sounded quite exciting, but I bet the reality is dull, dull, dull.

Ouch, I'd have a little cry too - it's allowed! Hope you're not too sore, but glad you didn't injure yourself seriously! Falling over in the bath and breaking a hip are the sort of thing I've started to worry about at my age... 29, ha ha!

Thanks Dinah. Ah, boys are rubbish when you're on a diet, they can't help it! I'm really finding that money saving and losing weight don't go hand in hand. Last night I made a banana loaf to use up some really old bananas :money:but now I've got a yummy banana loaf that I'm not supposed to eat!

Birdie you're so not a wimp. I fell down the stairs last week and bashed my coccyx to smithereens (well probably not but it felt and still feels like it) and I cried. I am also in the middle of having a half sleeve done in three hour stints. So it's not about pain thresholds or owt, sometimes it's just plain horrible and the shock doesn't help. We're not made to fall over!
I think your hen night outfits sound fab by the wayWhen I had my hen party we all got dressed up as song titles. Very random and full of mucho gigglage. Even a couple of boys who were invited made a huge effort

Hehe what a thing to worry about! Are you going to install one of those panic button things in your bathroom just in case?! I have an irrational fear that OH will die in his sleep, whenever he goes really quiet in bed I'll wait for him to make a noise again before I can settle back down to sleep!
I just wondering about your money making Dinah, are you still beating NIM though?
Just picked my Barbie dress up from my Mum's, she took it up so I wouldn't trip on it and I've been swooshing around in it!
