Well I am happy! :j
Managed to get London City Road for £15 a night per double room!
Weirdly I searched a few times and the prices keep changing between £12.50 and £22.00.
Could have booked two seperate bookings at £12.50 but didn't want to book one and then find I could not book the other.
Also decided to include breakfast as £6.50 but will fill us up for the day - will only need a small lunch snack until dinner.
Total Cost is £52 for two double rooms, with 3 breakfasts, cancellation insurance and fees.
:j£4000 in 2011 - £48.88/£40000 -

Just beware of the "Covent Garden" one. We were put underground with a little window viewing an underground utility area - itself not a catastrophe, but the jet-engine drone of ventilation machinery was unbelievable and it was 30 deg c with no adjustable air con (Sept).
Yep, got to agree with you. This is probably the most popular TL in London purely because of the location but some rooms can be not up to standard.
However if you obtain in the sale at the right price, they are a bargain.
Personally, I find London transport cheap and pretty good so I am not really bothered at which central London TL I stay."If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools"

Website is getting worse - I was at least getting though to booking before it crashed, but now I can't get anything up at all. On the plus side, I seem to remember this being a "2 rooms or so" availability per hotel that was cheap (and not all were) and as I am trying to go somewhere obscure I might have another attempt later - I am sure there were still £9 rooms at half seven last year, and poss longer. I'm struggling to find a room at 9 pounds which isnt on a motorway in the middle of the week
Although there is the option of booking a room in a travelodge in London on Xmas Day for 9 pounds. That would truly be an admission of being the saddest git in the world:rotfl:0 -
