I thought they were good. Just fitted the h4 ones from my old car to the GF's (as new car uses different bulbs) and she said she can't tell the difference. I think it's a woman thing though. I would recommend them. The brightness is probably best observed in how much further away you can see the reflective road signs.

I have had these fitted to my car, did it myself a few months back just before my MOT.

Got them off eBay at £25 for the pair!

There really good, much brighter and clearly light than standard fitted bulbs.

Make sure you get BS marked bulbs so they are road legal - mine are as checked such and MOT tester checked they were road legal too!

MOT guy checked they were BS marked? That would be interesting with some cars, Especially the ones that need
half the car dismantling to get them out.

They should only check the Aim and beam pattern.

I put some Halfords Extream Brilliance bulbs in my Alfa as the standard ones were too dim. The wife said she didn't notice the difference, but I put that down to being a woman thing too!

I have them and think they are worth the money. See the tests in Auto Express. Purchase from an eBay seller.

The best place for bulbs is Ebay, although I've never purchased any bulbs from there, you can get good branded bulbs for as little as £1.99 plus P&P. I only went to Halfords because they had the Super Brillience bulbs on BOGOF and I obviously needed two for consistency! Certain bulbs are more pricy too. Mine were the most pricy as both main beam and dipped beam are H1 bulbs!

Philips bulbs tend to come out top in most of the recent Auto Express tests - the last test was a couple of issues ago. They even outperform the PIAA bulbs which cost a ridiculous £50-£100.

I'm always wary of ebay bulbs, there are a lot of counterfeit parts on there, it's hard to tell the good from the not so good.
I've used the standard Halfords bulbs, they came out well in the Auto Express test as well, and if you can get hold of a trade card are a very good price.

Has anyone tried the new Philips extreme vision bulbs that has just come out this month. They are supposed to be 100% brighter than the standard bulb. I think the extreme power are rated at 80%.
The only down side is that they are a lot more expensive than the power ones.
Is the Extreme vision worth the extra outlay ?
