Tuning Sky remote to TV
[Deleted User]
I would like to tune the sky remote to the second tv which is linked to the sky box via a coax cable to the RF outlet on the sky box. This second tv operates with a magic eye. I have tried tuning the remote to the tv but for some reason, I can't get it to work. I'm sure I'm doing it correctly with the correct TV code, so I don't think it's due to what I'm doing. I have tuned the remote (different to the one for the 2nd TV) to the main TV and this works fine. Any ideas why the 2nd remote won't work - I suspect it's because the signal is going through the magic eye, but I'm not sure. Any suggestions please as to what I can do, or am I trying to do the impossible.

I did this, could control the box through the magic eye and the TV, both with the same remote.
Sure it is the right code?0 -
Yes I def have the right code - got it from sky website. I have 2 remotes - one tuned to thre main tv and this works OK, the other remote won't work with the second tv. Is this the same setup you have? I'm just wondering that when I send the code through the magic eye, the sky box rejects it because it is connected to the main tv and not the one I'm trying to tune. Does this make sense?0

Now you have lost me?
What code are you sending through the magic eye?
I thought you wanted to control the second TV with a Sky remote?
Is this wrong?
I used to have a TV in another room connected to my only Sky box via RF2. I could switch the TV on and off and change channels with the Sky remote. I could also change the channels on the Sky box, through the magic eye, with this same remote.0 -

Yes I can do all that, that's not the problem. What I'm trying to do is use the sky remote to adjust the volume on the second tv. I can do this on the main tv, so why can't I do it for the second tv?0 -
Perhaps not all of the functions work for that particular TV?
Is there more than one code listed for that model?
If so might be worth trying another code.0 -
;37768104]The code is a unique 4 digit number which relates to the brand of TV.
But that is for the TV not the magic eye.0 -
;37768158]No - there's only 1 code. RU able to control the volume on your 2nd tv through the magic eye?
No- the magic eye has nowt to do with the volume on the TV.
I can control the volume on the TV with the Sky remote.0 -
Yes I agree - the code is to sync the brand of TV with the sky remote. I can't do it in front of the main TV as this is a different brand to the 2nd, so I have to do the code in front of the 2nd tv (which is in nother room from the sky box and send the code through the magic eye. And I think this is why it won't work. But that is for the TV not the magic eye.0
