belkin - WIRELESS PROBLEM
Comments
-
Is that everything? There's no sign of your wireless adapter there, only the wired Ethernet adapter. You'll never get a wireless connection if the wireless adapter isn't enabled, so enable it by pressing a switch or key combination (e.g. blue Fn key + F2 on Dells), or go into Control Panel - Network Connections, right-click Wireless Network Connection and click Enable.felix65 wrote:Windows IP Configuration

Then do another ipconfig/all and see if Ethernet adapter Wireless Network Connection is listed.
Also, who is your ISP? You might like to edit your post to disguise your IP address etc. as I've done above.0 -

by the look of it you've not got your wireless card set to pick up it's IP by DHCP so you'll have a static one in there. Right click my network places, properties, right click your wireless connection, properties, TCP/IP, properties and set both IP address up for DHCP and also the DNS.
Your DNS Servers on the ethernet connection are different from the DNS servers on the Wireless connection so it seems like the laptop 'may' have been used on a different network at some point with static IP and DNS so it's not picking up the DNS servers from NTL.0 -
i did that
on my link information all i get is picture showing
laptop ( numbers 01010101) = router x internet
so aint working stillVal

No, they are ok. DHCP enabled = No on the wireless adapter is the problem. Go into TCP/IP settings for the wireless adapter and choose 'Obtain IP address automatically'.
Also, why are your IP settings for the Ethernet adapter different now?0 -
A bit of a mess.
The PC NIC is on a different subnet and not the usual MSHOME default. I would guess at some point that it has been networked directly to a cable modem.
Might be worth deleting the LAN connection on the PC, deleting both the LAN and wireless connection on the laptop, patch them both to the router and then run the Network Setup Wizard on both machines followed by running the Wireless Network Setup wizard on the laptop.
