Chipped Tooth Pain...

I chipped my front tooth maybe five years ago...Someone threw a pillow at me while I was drinking, and the glass chipped the corner off. It didn't hurt at the time, so I just had it checked out by the dentist who said they could fix it, but didn't need too. I'm petrified of dentists, so I left it at that.
Today it's started to really hurt. It doesn't really look any different, apart from that I can now see the nerve, which I don't remember being able to do before, but its totally put me off eating.
I've phoned my dentist, who isn't at all interested, but then I've only been once and they weren't too accommodating then either
I've phoned two nearby dentists too, who aren't accepting NHS patients.
Any ideas?

Can you afford a private dentist?0

Erm...I've never been to one, so I've got no idea how much it would cost, to be honest.
I get the impression it costs a small fortune to be seen privately?0 -
Happened to my daughter. Turned out there was a raging infection in the tooth. Was given antibiotics and then cleaned out by the dentist before being re filled. She's just had a root canal in it recently. Wish I could turn back the clock. The Cabbage

Ow. Well, I think that's scared me into going to the dentist!
Does anyone know if I can go to the hospital for this? I guess not...dentists around here are in short supply, though!0 -
Do you have a dental hospital near you? Ours is open on Saturday mornings for emergencies0
