This is I got ! I sincerely believe that this has to be the best deal in the country. I had to call up and haggled hard (around 40 mins)

Deal specifics:
IPhone 4 16 GB
500 mins
5000 3-3 mins
5000 texts
1GB Data
£30 per month + £99 upfront
+ £150 Comet voucher !!!
Catch : It's only available for Black colour.

As with any network, they are not allowed to pass any subsidy on the Iphone tariffs but this doesn't stop them giving something extra to help counteract.

I was able to do this because I already have one account with them. I called up to request PAC and they tried hard to stop me from leaving. In the end I accepted their retention offer only if they decide to give me a second contract with some good deal on Iphone !

I then asked as to whom I was speaking, then the guy said he was from so called "Premier League Department" and they cater for the top 5% of their customers. I do not believe this as I am not a big spender, my previous line rental has been £15 per month (1100 Mix n Match) and I never go beyond that. I will still be paying £15 and for the new one I will be paying £30. I personally won't be using the IPhone as it's for my OH.

Guys, I would say that just call 3 and ask them to be transferred to their "Premier League team" and not La Liga , lol. For 3 customers, just dial 333 as I did.

EDIT : Sorry, mistake, it's black. I misunderstood over the phone and called them to verify which colour am I getting. They said White is a long shot away and I have to wait for 5-6 working weeks. They were unable to allocate a handset on the next shipment and I've been allocated on the one after next hence the delay.

Still clearing the white 32gb iPhone 3GS? I had one at £25 / month, £29 up front with same allowances. Just make sure if its a iPhone 4 you are after, thats what you get?

I thought 3 had stopped doing the 3gs, thats what they told me anyway, and Iphone 4 in white hasnt been released yet, and AFAIK, there has been no date announced for it yet

CvPiper/Exhortation : It's the black I am getting. I am on 5-6 week wait though. It practically means that I am having to pay a months line rental without getting the phone. I really can't complain for the value I am getting.

And yeah ! It's the IPhone 4 and not 3gs

Not bad, I'm guessing its a 24 month contract; if so its costing you £669 (less voucher).

So if you compare it to the best sim only option.

Plus either: 3000 Text, Landline calls or T-Mobile - T-Mobile

If bought one direct from Apple the iPhone 4 16GB is £499 (might get 3% off via quidco £14.97) and you managed to keep the £7.50 after 12 months.

Therefore the best total cost is £664.03

So for less than an extra £5 (at worst) over the contract length, I'd say its a very good deal.

i got offered exactly same deal as you, but plumped for the same tariff but at £35 per month, and no upfront cost for the phone, in the conversation it was mentioned about a £180 voucher for comet, but not sure if that was related to iphone, or another phone they was trying to upgrade me to, if i get it, i get it, if not then no big loss, i too got fairly long wait, upgraded on 05/10/10, get phone on 02/11/10, mind you i never had to haggle, on phone for less than 10 minutes, when they was running through list of phones to upgrade to, i mentioned iphone, expecting iphone 3gs and the lady just offered me this deal straight away.

Three network is not the best when you get outside major cities and you have to wonder why every other network has stock and three hasn't.

Could it be Apple are unable to forfill there requests down to undercurring apples set price. your 5 week wait may be a lot longer.
