  • Hurray to finishing work :). It will be nice to have some time to relax (some chance with you, I know ;)) and you might shake off that cough. Hope you get a better night's sleep.

Well I returned to the doctor and it seems plan A is working, it is just the patient is being impatient and needs to wait at least three months to start feeling better :(. Ah well, at least the treatment is working so no more testing etc. I will bounce back in a couple of days, it just wasn't what I was expecting or hoping to hear.

In MSE news, I managed a small sale on Ebay last week which will give me a profit of £10. Not much, but it was something that would have gone in the bin so I was very pleased. And after a little tidy out yesterday, I found 3 more things to put on Ebay so we shall see how they do. I picked up a petrol MS for this week which is handy as I need a bit of petrol (I try to leave a bit of room in the tank in case a petrol MS comes up!)

    Have a nice evening x

woohoo for finishing work. I could do with some paid leave right now, just not the baby lol

Re the kindle, I've got one and it's great. I honestly don't see why you would need the 3G version to be honest unless I'm missing something so don't worry about that.
  • So glad to hear plan A is actually working Chocs, at least you can go forward knowing things will get better now and you should soon start to feel better in yourself. :)

Well done on the ebaying too, I really need to get my butt in gear and list one or two things I have found around the house which may be suitable.

Thanks for the heads up on the Kindle YB - I agree - I guess the 3G is good if you travel a lot and are not at home much, but as we rarely travel, I don't think it's worth paying the extra £50 for it! Glad to hear another positive review of them, I wasn't sure at first but have heard a lot of good things about them.

This morning I've done another load of washing to clear the basket, most of which is dry already and can be put away soon. I've also got a few bits soaking that I managed to run the colours on by putting in with a pair of jeans . I had some of the colour run remover stuff in the cupboard so am seeing how that goes but not too optimistic.

The car has also had a new tyre fitted this morning, costing £70. The tyres on our car are so expensive, however, it should've been £81 but the guy knocked it down as that was the price he'd originally given me, so am happy enough with that. He did say that another one of them will need changing after about another 1K miles - as I suspected - but it's ok for now.

This morning I received the new credit card I'd applied for as a balance transfer card before deciding to pay off the CC in full last week. So, I swiftly phoned them up to cancel the account and destroyed the card already. It took me two attempts of calling them and nearly 15 minutes on the phone - the first time they cut me off, the second time I got passed to 3 different people just to close the flippin' account! When I mentioned they had cut me off on a previous call and all the details had been explained already, I got told there was a note on my account to say I'd hung up on them!!! My answer - why would I do that when you are charging me an 11p connection 'call set up' fee every time I call you, on top of paying 6p per minute to talk to you. Grrrrr. Customer service was shocking from the start!

I'm going to try and sort out the mobile phone recycling thing in a bit too so it can be posted tomorrow. I turned out a few more bits for the charity shop this past week, so bagged them up this morning and will take it to the shop tomorrow as well.

The £16.87 has been paid into the bank account from Quidco, but I'll have to leave it in there for now rather than transfering it to the birthday account. I'll see what the state of play is after pay day and will transfer it then if I can afford to do so.

    Have a good day all

  • Hi DFSD, poor customer service is so annoying, i spent over £10 in phonecalls last week trying to get through to easyjet customer services and ended up having to use a different number at 65p per minute..rip off :mad:.
Hope your enjoying your first day of maternity leave and well done on cutting up the credit card :j:j

  • Calling anybody's customer service is just my idea of hell. There is no such thing as a good call-centre anymore!

  • Ouch WABL - £10 in phonecalls! Easyjet don't know the meaning of customer service from my past experience! It's do anoying isn't it.

You're right Dreamer - it's very rare to get good service from call centres these days!

Quite a productive afternoon which has seen me list 2 items on ebay as BIN's and one thing on Amazon as it was going for a higher price on there. Fingers crossed they all sell quickly!

I've also packaged the 3 mobiles up to send off for recycling tomorrow, hopefully getting £13 in return plus £1 cashback through Quidco.

Oh, and just got booted out of yet another survey!

WOO HOO! The two items I put on ebay a couple of hours ago have sold already! Makes me think I should've put them on at a higher price but nevermind - it's all profit. :) I only paid £5 for one item new, but it's just sold for £12 so that can't be bad. ;) It is worth around £20 new but I'm happy with £12! That lady has paid up already, however, the other buyer who has bought the mobile phone - with a user name obviously suggesting it's a phone shop - hasn't. Why do people 'buy it now' but pay for it later???

When the money's been transferred I'll put it into the birthday pot to save towards hubby's birthday gift. :0)
  • Thats great DFSD, the extra money making is going well :j.
I also hate it when people bid on things and then take ages to pay or dont pay at all
