well, got home from work today, letter from insolvency service on the mat.....all the rushing feelings of panic filling me up again...don't ever think that will leave me! Anyways, much to my surprise, after reading on here that they are no longer processing ED paperwork, having sent all my papers back in March, I've got a letter confirming my ED has been done....so thats it, ........wow, really has been a surprise, but a very nice one!!

Only just seen this TQ, I'm so pleased for you
    Love good news me

Fingers crossed for other Nov '10 members too ;)

    Best wishes

  • well my forms went in on 3rd March, so it did take a while, to be honest, I'd given up checking the website, and was prepared to 'go the distance' so it was a lovely surprise.

fingers crossed for other ED hopefuls

  • Good evening!!!!

I am so happy, logged into the Insolvency Register around 20 minutes ago to see that I got an ED last week!!!!!!

This has come three months before AD and I can't explain how happy I am!!!

Thank you to all those who have provided help and advice. It has been invaluable and I am so grateful to each and every one of you.

I suppose I had better try and get some sleep now but I doubt I will!

No IPA either so I can get on with my life without one of those hanging over me for three years.

    Thanks again everyone. x

  • well, just a few words, to offer some support to those joining the November 2011 club.

A year ago I was a nervous wreck. I had been forced to leave my marital home, I was in a council flat which though safe, was no home. I had no money, and huge debts due to the breakup of my marriage. I felt alone, worthless, incredibly sad, heartbroken, and really doubted that there was much of anything to look forward to. I had the support of my parents, which I am eternally grateful for (but what a tough decision to discuss all the issues with them). Due to the stress I was becoming physically ill, and with the cold weather, and dark nights I just felt that life was terrible. I had a lot of help from the CAB and with their help, I filled in my forms, and made my appointment. 8th November...the date etched in my brain.

Now fast forward 12 months.....the flat is now most definitely my home, I love it, decorated to MY taste, no compromise with anyone else, filled with pictures of my family, I have my pets with me (I had feared not being able to afford them). Money is still tight, but I made a budget, and have stuck to it. I have money in the bank (though not a lot) for Christmas, and I have a small emergency fund (only a couple of hundred, but better than nothing). I had an early discharge, so in some respects have been 'free' of the BR for a little while, but the date still feels significant. Most importantly,I have found a new partner, have been totally honest with him about my financial circumstances, fortunately he has understood, and doesn't mind a bit that I am a bit of a scrooge! Life is good, and it can only get better.

Yes, the decision to take bankruptcy was hard, but it has allowed me to make a new start, move on from the wreck of my life, and build it anew. So, for all those about to start the journey, keep strong, it will get better, its hard, but its worth it.
