That sounds like a contrived tenancy to me!

Contrived tenancy and DHP for ever, you wouldnt get far where I work.

Elmer, I wouldn't worry. If DMG24 is correct, this is a fictional scenario so quite handily the OP has come up with a fictional solution.

Fictional landlords are permitted to rent out their pretend properties to their fake closely related tenants,,,,

    Ok all done arguing!

Fluffy is right - all dhps are reviewed on a regular basis and I can see that many people will come unstuck, however as has been said these do not come into force until April 2011. If DHP is not awarded then the landlord will have to issue at least 2 months notice (or the tenant will either way for a lease of more than 6 months) so it will not be an overnight issue.

Lacool - stop winding everyone up or I will close this thread! There are many people who do not have such an "understanding" and will have very real concerns.

I don't know what you mean

The LA are fully aware of my relationship to my LL I had to declare it back in the beginning
They had no problems with it as the flat had previously been rented out to another person on a commercial basis

I can't see what I have done wrong. Surely this thread is reassuring those that are worried to death about how they will meet their rent commitments

The contrived part is around the fact that your rent will be as much as you can squeeze out the taxpayer and nothing more. I am assuming from your wording that if you do not get DHP and the LHA drops then all will be fine and the landlord will accept whatever we all pay for and you do not have to top it up out your own pocket like a genuine commercial tenent

You would be far better in cheaper accomodation as I cannot see how you have any incentive at all to work support yourself as you would need a high salary to be able to pay the rent...obviously unless your flexible landlord has a different rate for working tenents

I will close this now As I have probably said too much already and feel that the Benefit section of Camden Borough might be made aware

In my naivety I have used identifiable information about myself

Though I don't feel I have done anything wrong

Pushing the troll to one side - presumably DHP has to be a short term initiative or there would be no point in cutting LHA allowances.

I think the experts have spoken - they are the people who do this job day in day out.

You have already said that your LL "will take whatever you can get" how is that reassuring? Please stop trolling or I will report you to abuse.

    Thanks :D
