Embarrassing question about PAYG.
Options
Can anyone tell me whether I can buy a PAYG Sim (no phone), without the need to top-up every month?
I only need to text a couple of times a month, but am not sure if the many offers I've seen, e.g. at Carphonewarehouse, etc., allow me to do this.
It's a pretty embarrassing question as I should know the answer to this.
I might be pushing it, but is there anything decent with TopCashBack cashback available?
Cheers.

Order a free payg sim card from giffgaff. You wont need to top up every month, only when the credit runs out.0

It depends on the offer. Some have a condition that you top up £xx to get free texts or minutes. If you don;t do it in a month you don't get the free minutes.
Most have a basic offer where it's not so cheap in a per minute cost but no monthly cost, my wifes on vodafone and she puts maybe £20 on a year, You'll need to make a "chargable event" happen, ever 90 or 180 days (depending on the provider) , ie make a call, a text or top up to keep the line active, but thats all.0 -
My Virgin mobile PAYG never expires and requires no top up unless I want to .

I have a Tesco sim only PAYG and I top up by £10 once in a very blue moon. Added bonus is that Tesco "give" you triple (so they give you £20) which only last one month but your original £10 lasts as long as you can make it.
When I do top up, I use my free £20 instead of the house phone so save on my landline calls too. Plus points of course, which are currently triple!0 -
There's no embarrasing question. We are a team ! About the question, yeah most networks want you to do atleast one chargeable event in 90 days to keep the line active.Bank accountsSantander : 17 year relationship, 0 problems to date.0
