    try this download here i had the same trouble took me ages to work it out seems like it must be a update from microsoft that deletes it..
    Your link simply returns me to the page when I click on download, finally I googled a similar link but only to receive a large zip file and there seems no effect - since you had a similar problem I'm thinking it might help if I reinstall my driver CDs and let me see what happens.

    Just to be sure, have you checked your sound settings in control panel? It's possible that a (ms) driver update has reset them?
    Failing that, see if you can roll back your driver for the sound card.

  • when you click on link, click on download takes you to another page. click on orange circle with download written on it .then click on external mirror 1 win 98/ me/2000/xp this should start the download...

    edit just read post it doesnt work hmmm will keep looking

    I reinstalled the voice applications and drivers from the CD that came along with the laptop.

  • I havce a similar problem - there is some sound, but very faint. Tried all the options to check sound/increase volume/unmute etc - still no joy.
