Its like a pandora bracelet. But leave price out of it, and it looks great, is certainly different and will no doubt sell well.
For those that perform function over form, you can buy 3 or 4 of these for less than the 13" model, and spec is barely different (ignoring chinese build quality / OS)

Shame it oos now, all gone since yesterday

that's actually quite a good little computer, shame about the vista part, but put win7 on it and it would be top notch.

also acer is Taiwanese and they have very good reliability compared to other manufacturers

I look at mac products and go: damn that's sexy, but I look at the price and suddenly it's not so sexy any more. It feels so much like you'd be paying for a brand rather than the technology yourself. You don't brag about specs with an apple product, you brag about the fact it's an apple product and with so many people buying into apple stuff now, the reaction just becomes: Yeah, so?
agreed, it's always a premium u pay ; i try to be selective in my purchases

Just buy the stuff what best suits your needs. Is anyone really that impressed by someone showing off expensive things, personally if people are like that to me I always think that they're lame.

It seems people are brand led.

Look at all the Audi's and BMW's sold. Or Bose / Bang & Olafsson audio-visual gear. Or designer clothes, shoes, and handbags.

That's the way the world is nowadays.

The Apple people know this and are using it to their advantage. Normal PCs will never have as strong a brand presence I suspect.

Well, as i say, i use both multiple Windows machines and multiples Mac (SL) machines. They both -- as manufacturers/OS's -- do certain things well.

Hey, leave Audis out of it :p I'll agree with you about BMWs, they seem to attract more idiots on average than most other car manufacturers. Hmm itiots being attracted to a particular brand, familiar ;)

Anyhow, this thread started by the OP was as a 'news' article on the new MB Air. Apple threads always descend here -- ultimately -- into a competitive battle between Windows and Mac (Snow Leopard OS) :D
