I think it's disgusting that they didn't send you a list of their charges together with their terms and conditions. Hopefully they stuck to them but if they have charged you more than is laid out in their T&Cs then you certainly have a case against them.

On the other hand, if the charges are in line with the Fees in their T&Cs you don't have a leg to stand on - all you can do is appeal politely on the grounds of your previous good management of the account.

Morning Erics Mum - I have an awful feeling that most people when they go over the limit are unaware that they have until they slammed with the charges. Now, I am for a little muscle flexing when there is a persistent customer who doesnt give a monkeys, but what I object to is the amount they charge to people who are desparately struggling. Willy nilly. I have just been charged £27.50 for two 'going over the limit' charges (one was £3.78 and the other £6.72). I mean £27.50 EACH. I had no idea until this morning when I have gone into my online account. Also I am sick and tired of people saying (I mean the bank) have you read the T & C's. Course I bloudy well havent because a) I am working all hours b) I havent got a magnifying glass and c) I dont understand all the crap words they use. So, sorry to be so ranty its just that I am that -ranty and upset.

Sorry Erics Mum - I apologise but you were nearest just then!!!!!

  • Morning guys - just been in to Natwest for a moan about their charges and to change my Advantage Gold Account which costs me £12.99 a month back to a basic account. I was as nice as pie honestly and then was told to come back on Wednesday !!!!!!! No-one could deal with my complaint there and then so I have to take time of bloody work and go back. Apparently someone has to sit with me and read some insurance crap to me before changing me back to basic account. What are the odds they'll try and get me to stick with the £12.99 a month account?
Mrs S - and as for the MOJ well I'm sorry but they're as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike. Tried whingeing to them about a CMC that I've been having problems with and was basically told to go sort it myself! Well, I am very willing to stand up in Court against these barstewards (CMC I mean). Bring it on! Looks like everyone's on the take these days!! So yes, Mrs S I know exactly how you feel. On the bright side I had a small victory with a PPI - got £580 - yeahhh.
Mrs S - I'm gonna PM you. Please have a look at your messages soon.

No need for sarcasm though is there!!

No need to whinge about being charged for going overdrawn. Do not spend money you do not have in your account - do not incur charges. It is not rocket science. Don't blame others for your own failing.
  • and which one do you work for???

Summary: stay in credit, don't pay a penny; overdraw by a penny, pay lots. Why is that complicated?

If you do not want to pay the fees then do not use the bank account or do not go overdrawn. It is not at all complicated. I am sick and tired of people saying they are too babyish to manage their own affairs and who then complain about the widely-known consequences.

Hi Mrs s, got your PM OK. I havent figured out yet how to do it myself but I will learn. The only thing when you go into a bank to plead your case is that the snotty oik the other side of the desk is on a commmission and he/she will be trying their damnest to sell you something. They are in business to make money. The human element has gone straight out of the window. Are they (the banks) are suppopsed to be servants of ours (!) in which case why couldnt they give you a day and time to suit YOU. Will you lose money through this?

Money is evil and that I know for sure. Double edged sword though as we need it to live.

CONGRATULATIONS ON GETTING YOUR PPI CLAIM BACK. I raise a glass to your success the only thing is it has cupasoup in it and not champagne but the thought is there!!!!!!

    LOLLLL
