no constructive advice - and you dont need it now anyway! just congrats and thanks for the trip down memory lane! Oh owned a Hillman Hunter at the time we got married in 1977 and I swear he replaced every single moving part on that car at least once! culminating in changing the engine completely! I hated that car with a passion, as my OH spent ALL his spare time repairing/maintaining the ruddy thing! and it would still let us down at the most inconvenient times (like when I was in labour with Son No1 and the muffler dropped off as we were setting off to the hospital! I swore the car was jealous that I was getting OHs attention for once).
Still, the body work was good on it - almost indestructible, good thing as we were once rear-ended at speed and the car got a broken bumper and a small crack in the petrol tank while the other car was a write off!
btw - swarfega was bought in vast amounts in my house then! lol, now he just uses my cooking oil and some sugar or salt - Kinder to the skin!

But you didn't need it, you just keep driving, with no "engine management" lights, no "limp mode" just a bit louder.
Take the engine out, with no ecu and immobiliser to re-program, just the new one from the scrappy back in, and it ran the next day.
I still have a twin su setup on a manifold for the hunter in the garage somewhere, with short ram pipes on them, from my younger days.
