    I've been Money Tipped!
I was also going to say 3 for 2 in Boots.

I'm getting my 4 yr old daughter a camera for Cmas - not a kiddizoom one though. She loves my phone features with the camera, the video record, the voice record, the music player, so will be looking to get her an identical phone to mine, SIM free obviously!

I was looking at the kidizoom cameras for my niece's 6th birthday, but after reading comments and reviews I have decided to get her a cheap 'proper' camera.

  • My daughter received a kidizoom camera last year for her 6th birthday it has only been used once she tells me it is not very good to take pictures with and uses ours instead, my 4 year old not very interested in it either
  • LoL Given what's been happening on some of the other posts (war because of people disagreeing) I thought I was going to be in for it with my negative views on teh kids camera.

Glad to know that I'm not the only one who thought it was rubbish!
And not the only one who ended up wasting her money.
And not the only one with a brand new camera in the toy box!!!

    lol snap!!!!
  • Oh Crap! I bought both my girls one for Christmas back in the summer when I saw them reduced!!:(
It will always be impossible to please everybody all of the time but so long as someone is happy with me somewhere at some point, my job here is done!
  • I think the kidizoom plus cameras are great for kids, quality of pic is fine when you upload them to the computer and at least with the kids camera if they drop it (which happens alot) they don't break. I bought my 3 yr old the disney princess one for her birthday and she loves it- pink and girly and you can add princess frames to your pictures which she loves!

my 3 year old daughter has one, its great fr her cos she drops it a lot and it bounces and only ever takes pictures of the carpet or her toes. However my 7 year old son had one a few years ago and as everyone else has said, it never got used and ended up in a box gathering dust. SO when he started taking an interest in my DSLR and wouldnt leave it alone, I bough thim a cheap proper camera from tescos when they had the double up promo on a few months back and he never puts it down.
:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T

My kids play on this a lot and their mummy is a photographer so they know the difference in quality and don't care. :D

These cameras are seriously tough, they've been dropped so hard they bounced before and don't have a single crack. When other kids come to play, they always end up fighting over the camera. The games are very simple but they love playing on them the most!

I don't just leave the kids to play with it on their own, I stimulate their imagination such as setting them tasks to find things in the garden, photograph it and bring the evidence back to me. I also pose countless amounts of time for those silly photographs where they stick a moustache on :D This might be why they are always picking it up.

Kids are funny things though and so beautifully different that you can't guess if yours will love it or not, only hope. Get it if it's what she is trully asking for and wants with all her heart.

I've seen a green one for cheap on the Vtech website. Have a look on there :)

For all those with cams in boxes.. get on eBay!! Now's the prime time to get these things selling. I feel your pain, we've got a healthy stash of Leapfrog things here NEVER touched!!

The OP does not say how old her child is and some of the earlier responses don't say how old their children are - so OP I would take some of these negative comments with a pinch of salt depending on how old your child is.

In terms of cost I would agree that Boots 3 for 2 might be your current best bet, or Amazon has it currently for £37.99.

If it's any help at all my son got this last Christmas when he was 4 and it's been very well used. He loves the games on the camera too. He's not bothered about the picture quality and I don't have to worry about it getting broken as it's so kid-proof. He also has the little kidilook picture frame which I think is quite overpriced but that's where he views the pics he's taken (I transfer them over and secretly delete the duffers lol). You could get a cheaper non v-tech digital handheld frame quite easily. But the point is that if that's where he's viewing them rather than the computer, the number of megapixels doesn't matter anyway. On the strength of our good experience and his good use of it, I've just picked one up for my daughter (who will be 3 shortly).
