    Good Morning Snv,

    Thank You so much.

I have an appointment with my Substance Misuse (Alcohol) Worker at 10.30am today, which will get me out, and she's lovely so that'll be positive.

As I haven't been out of my flat since last Thursday (been recovering since then from the previous 10 day bender..) I think I need to get out and about anyway!

In fact, I'm going to force myself out now, to the shop for milk so I can make a cuppa :-)

Have a good day day SnV,

    Sim (trying to smile!)

From one to another (recovering alcoholic) please have a long chat with your worker. When you get your drinking under control then the money problems will seem like a walk in the park. My first issue was drinking, I have stopped that (9 months now) and the spending has stopped, the debt is reducing and I am "on the up" as well.

Speak to your caseworked, ask advice on the money situation from CAB (ring them to make an appointment today). The debt is nothing compared to your health.

I can't tell you to stop drinking, it has to come from you, but you know that.

My two demons are drink and debt, both of which I face down each day (one day at a time remember) and i'm winning so far. You will get all the support you need on here, and from CAB and from your caseworker. Your not alone and if you want to win, you can.

    Good Morning E2,

    Thanks so much for that.

Congrats on your 9 months of sobriety. Awe inspiring.

How on earth have you done it?

I just keep getting so annoyed with myself for having wasted so much money 2 weeks back, when I could've just cleared this debt :-/

    Really struggling with this feeling.

Feel so stupid for having drank again, and for then keeping drinking for (on and off) 10 days.. the money! :o

Am about to jump in the shower, and get myself together for my appointment.

    Have a good day,

    Sim.

I do it Literally one day at a time and its the only way. I know this isn't an alcohol forum BUT have you ever considered AA, its not for everybody (I didn't go that way) but it may give you strength.

    Good luck

  • Hi Sim - sorry to hear things are bad for you at the moment.
What I would suggest is getting to the bank and getting out the money for rent and bills (so thay don't get swallowed up by the payday loan) and then pay the bills off if you can. The debt can be dealt with seperately.
Oh and definitely one step at a time - one day at a time.
    Good luck

Hi Sim, you need to stop beating yourself up over the spending while you had the 'blip' cos you're going to trigger yourself in to a binge again by being so down on yourself. You didn't kill anyone - you spent some money. It was a pity it happened but it did happen and now you can learn from it and move on.

Don't think you've f*cked it up because you drank on those days, think of how many days you HAVEN'T drunk on.

    Hi Sim

Hope your day with your case worker went well today and getting out in the fresh air (bit cold though!) did you some good.

I'm sure it did - always helps to get out and clear the cobwebs away.

Don't forget to withdraw your income tomorrow to prevent Moneyshop from getting their hands on it.

If you're worried about putting it into the COOP account (because of giving the card details to Moneyshop) is there anyone you can trust implicitly who you can give the money to who will look after it and only give it to you for things like food and bills etc?

I'll be honest I'm a bit outside my comfort zone on this one but I'm also thinking that with a sum of money in your pocket it may be asking too much of you while you are dealing with your alcohol addiction.

As already advised (and as you know from my dealing with payday loan companies thread) you know what to do with the CO-OP bank card.

One day at a time, keep being positive.
