EasyJet / Gatwick - Can't check in online?

My flight isn't for a couple of weeks yet but just went to print out my boarding passes etc but it said that online check-in was not available at this airport and that I need to use a desk at the terminal. That's the first I've heard?! :S

If they wont let you do it then this must be the case although its the first I have heard

Are you just putting your surname and booking ref into the box at the bottom of the homepage?

This is how I usually do it

  • Oh god, I was being dumb! Right, I think the bit about no online check-in was about the return flight which makes sense.

Thing is, I have hold luggage also so is there any point checking in online when I need to book that in anyway? Sorry, never done this before :(
  • You just drop your bag off at the designated bag drop points.

When I do that all I get is a screen allowing me to print off boarding cards. At no point does it actually say that I've successfully checked in though as I have the boarding cards presumably I must have - is it too much to ask for a POSITIVE statement of check-in status as even when I come out and go back again all it does is allow me to print off boarding cards - no mention that I've already checked in.

When I emiled Easyjet CS they took 24 days to reply by which time I had gone and comeback.

I ended up having no problem, but agree Easyjet should confirm you have checked in.
