Not patronising, just pointing out the blatant flaw in your argument (in that you have no argument)!
Indeed.
This thread is the classic:-
A price is advertised for a service or product.
Consumer agrees to pay said price.
Consumer comes on here and complains agreed transaction is a "rip-off"
Yet again another "rip-off" fail.:D0 -

Think you will find that the technology in it has increased. Massively.0 -

I suppose that way it covers all eventualities!Equaliser123 wrote: »Think you will find that the technology in it has increased. Massively.
Advances in technology do not necessarily make us look better - look at Leslie Ash!Gone ... or have I?0 -
dont like the price or passports...dont buy one.
frankly, they are cheap, limitless travel anywhere you want, anytime you want, your free to choose.
what a great world (country) we live in!
the uk passport is a treasure.Target Savings by end 2009: 20,000
current savings: 20,500 (target hit yippee!)
Debts: 8000 (student loan so doesnt count)
new target savings by Feb 2010: 30,0000 -
if you afford to go abroad, you can afford to pay for a passport - sorry!
the cost you pay helps fund the wages of the passport staff who process your application, pay for office space and rates etc. - its not all profit, and despite david cameron wanting us to be part of the big society i doubt anyone would or could do this job on a voluntary basis
In fact NONE of it is 'profit'. The aim is to cover the costs and no more. No profit, no loss. The users pay the average costs for what they get, as near as can be estimated. The audit commisssion would be down on them like a ton of bricks if it was wildly out, either way.
And the increased costs over recent years are technology and database driven.
No rip off0 -
indeed! maybe ive been lucky but every time i've had to contact the passport office they have been more than helpful and friendly'We're not here for a long time, we're here for a good time0

One way to get around it: find out if your company will pay passport fees for you. If you have to travel internationally for work your employer may cover the costs for you.
Mine does. Our Expense and Travel Policy says passport fees are expensible.0
