Is anyones boyfriends more tight than this?!

My wife is probably more tighter financially than your boyfriend. But I don't mind at all, in fact I am thankful for her being tight because we have managed to survive tough times without having to borrow any money from anyone or use CC because she had more than enough saved up to tie us over.Mr. Mulla0

Just buy the own brand stuff. Lemsip and Beechams you pay through the nose for (if you'll pardon the pun)."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0

google rebound headaches.... your body can become used to a drug, so it mimics a headache, you take the meds... catch 22. more common with codeine, but 30 paracetamol a week just for headaches, it might be worth a check up with Dr & opticians, just to make sure nothing is going on. drink more water too, this time of year when central heating goes on gives me chronic headaches, id rather put a cardi on!
Is that true?? I'm on repeat prescriptions for co-codamol, which i believe contains codeine, and i can pretty much get these when i want. Ive never been warned of side effects, but have noticed I can get get some real stinkers of headaches, or problems with my knee (reason tablets are prescribed), even when i'm taking the tablets?

Also there's no cure for a cold - hotwater+honey+lemon is nice and very cheap.
So, yes it could be worse!
I tried to read the trashy News of the World on Sunday and apparently they are now charging to read it online! :eek:Just buy the own brand stuff. Lemsip and Beechams you pay through the nose for (if you'll pardon the pun).
I can get both of these from my local Poundland

I'm kinda the same
. I only take medicine for colds, headaches, etc - partially because I'm frugal and partially because I don't like putting a lot of chemical-ly medicines in my body. top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne

hiya,
it doesnt happen to everyone, but it might be worth just seeing how you go without them for a couple of days?
it doesnt effect me, and i am on a full dose of codeine with morphine at night. with several others too boot!
it is possible your body can get used to them also, if you're concerned, have a chat with your gp, see what they suggest. there are so many diff types of analgesics out there. perhaps an anti-inflammatory for your knees?
Please dont be worried though, Pm me if you have any more questionsPlease be nice to all moneysavers!

im on morphine and i suffer rarely with head aches, but when i do its a migrane. the doctors/ surgeon actually told me to take paracetamol to take alongside all my meds. i dont think cold and flu stuff works at all. id rather make a hot juice (vimto or something similar). hope everyone is well and not suffering to bad with colds etc. Rach xx0

I buy Tesco version of Lemsip and add a generous slug of brandy or Southern Comfort. It almost makes a cold worth having.

I know I used to like to read the NOTW online but I won't be subscribing to their website. I wonder how many people will start to pay?
To the person who asked about paracetamol causing headaches. I'm pretty sure if you take them too often this can cause headaches, the very thing you are trying to get rid of! Best to see your GP.
My OH is suffering from a cold just now and I tell him to take some paracetamol for his high temperature. No, he won't have it! He won't even register with a Doctor as he feels most of these viruses will shift themselves. I've had to listen to him moaning for the past week about his cold.
