Does anybody use company affiliate schemes on their blogs?0

Yea I do, and I am in the middle of setting up a new blog directly for use with affiliate schemes.0

Well, my new blog project is up and running. It has a couple of adsense units but is predominately for making money through affiliates. Made £1.50 on adsense and it's only been up for a day, hasn't even been indexed by google properly. Showing promising signs of traffic too. Scheduled posts to come out in the next week or so. Fingers crossed!:beer:0

Hello,
Shame this topic isn't very lively! My newest blog explain above seems to be doing well. Sometimes it makes £4 a day, sometimes 0.25, but its been up a week or so and made more than my 5 month old blog. Also has alot of affiliate stuff but no one seems to of purchased anything yet!
Anyone got any tips for increasing google pagerank?

Ok, just want to ask if I'm missing something. All the threads along the same vein as this seem to be about blogs and nothing more. Is there any reason for this rather than setting up an actual website, other than a blog is a lot simpler to set up for a non techie than a website?
The reason I am asking is that I am looking at creating a website (travel based) and hope to generate income through affiliate marketing (flights, car hire, that sort of thing), but all the buzz seems to be about blogs, blogs and more blogs.
The reason why I am looking at a website, is that the information contained will be fairly permanent, therefore negating the need for constant interesting updates to keep viewers interested as you would in a blog.
Any comments?

Havn't you answered your own question? Make a website. It will suit what you want to do.
Blogs are just easier to set up for adsense and affiliate programs, as wordpress and other blogging platforms have thousands of plugins, making advertising and SEO a doddle.0 -
I am thinking of starting to write a blog and wondered if anyone could recommend a nice place to set it up? Is there a particular blogging community where it is more likely to get readers?24.06.14 12 st 12 lb (waist 45" at fattest part of belly)
