I think actually I should be alright with not buying too much stuff for this trip as I have so much left over from last time
Been doing some thinking, and realised my original plan may not work. My plan was just to have the same budget and use what I would spend during the month here as Borneo spending money. I then worked out in an average month I spend less than £100 so that probably won't work! I would have more left over if I didn't make the snowball payment for those two months but I really don't want my DFD to slip. So I have started a Borneo spends fund - hoping for £500
So, after lots of working this weekend - £20 to the loan, £20 to the o/d and £20 to BorneoDebt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0 -
Also, must find another £2 by tomorrow, really want my November payments to be an even £1,000Debt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0

Can you add a few zero's onto that?! :rotfl:Well done on the payments, sensible move saving up £500 for Borneo anything you don't spend can go on debt upon your return
That's what I was thinking Woo. The savings thing feels a bit odd when there's the loan to throw it at but if I don't want that DFD to slip there's going to have to be some planning. I've been wondering for a while about an emergency fund too, but will only give that some serious thought when I get back in April.
On a random note, does anybody know of a decent brand for buying flip flops? I need to get a decent pair for Borneo. Found that the toe post comes away from the sole too easily on the ones I had - in Africa I was walking around in a pair that were top half from one pair and bottom half from another pair wired together by the end of the 6 months! :rotfl:Debt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0 -
I know they are expensive but Havianas are worth their weight in gold to be honest. My feet blister terribly (and when the blister they bleed - yuuuuuuuk!) and Havianas are the only ones that I can wear all day and all night - as if they were trainers! I think I paid about £20 for them in office but that was probably 4 or 5 years ago and they are still doing me proud... I would imagine this time of year you can get them cheaper too.0

Havianas are meant to be the best and last 10 years, I don't have any to know if this is true though lol!LBM Aug 09: £18,650.47 - Current: £12,854.93 (£5946.79)

money well spent, I have to say. I usually spend anything between £1 or £10 on fashion flipflops but they blister, split etc. H's dont necessarily look the prettiest, but its worth it!0

Hiya, I've got a brilliant pair of rubber flip flops from land's end - They're not very attractive, but I've had them for 5 years and they're sturdy and comfortable.Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
Thanks for that guys will check them out
They wouldn't let me wear my wired flip flops on the plane home - they said they were a 'security risk', because of the wire. It was a case of, well you may well change your minds when you smell the horrible pair of trainers that are my only alternative footwear! :rotfl:Debt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0
