I'm sure the result will be worth it but I am very nervous

I would say if your figures are still working out, then stick to October for now. Just see how you go. You know you will be debt free before the end of the year anyway.

I defnitely won't be giving up! Just my current DFD relies on me making payments of approx £1,200 a month. My take home from my main job is £1,375 so making those kinds of payments relies heavily on me being able to really cut back after rent, bills etc and how much extra work I do.
The last couple of months I have had a couple more nights out than normal and worked a few less shifts and those changes have really reflected in what I pay back as it has been closer to approx £1,000. I've also had extra costs in trying to get this craft thing going.
But I have felt so much better for it!Back when my debt was costing me around £500 a month in interest I felt like I had no choice, now it's not incurring anything it does feel like I can have some slack. I'm defnitely still on course for the end of the year and becoming debt-free is still so important to me, but I think I've reached the end of the line at the rate I have been going at, which I suppose after just over 2 years is not surprising.
I know the plan was to jet off to Africa debt-free and it's a shame that may not happen but I think not feeling stressed all the time is also important. A little bit of free time and working on trying to get a business going seem to be far more appealing right now
I have discussed it with OH and he agrees, although he thought I should pack the pub in altogether which I thought was a bit extreme!
Sorry rambling nowAnyway, you never know, I am helping my Dad claim his PPI back and if successful he has said he will give me some of it, plus if the 2 craft fairs I have booked for June go well I may be more on track for October than I previously thought

I feel the same as you Beccie! I can feel myself getting less focussed on debt busting and becoming more relaxed with spending. I'm glad actually, because I know this has now become a way of life.
I've been able to move my DFD to September but that's thanks to a payrise, not any real hard work. Wishing you an early DFD!Total Debt Sept 2010 - £24,132.38 / Current - £0.00/ 100% paid

That's it. I'm still not overspending or going mad and I am still paying a good whack. I just want my life back a little bitDebtFree2012 wrote: »Tht makes perfect sense hun and it means we get to keep you longer
