Good plan - that's why I am keeping my next big payment until later in the month. Best to be safe.

    It is DF :)

    Pay day today! :j

£350 to the CC :) Really going to push to try and see the back of that one this month.

That takes me to 79% now and sub 6K! :j

Had a very cheap night out Friday - turned out to be £2 a game of bowling and £2 a pint :D Cue bad hangover on Saturday though :o

I worked 12 till 8 Saturday and 12 till 6 Sunday so should get a good amount of pennies through soon. Will need to stock up on some supplies as I have a craft fair booked for 4th June and another for 10th of June now, eep! That's a lot of making to do :)

Well done on the payment, getting to 79% and below £6k :). I'm sure you will get rid of Barclays by the end of May.

    hi beccie,

as an alternative to laser or in case its too much/not suitable etc... have you considered contacts?

i get ones that you can wear continuosly for 30 days with no need to take out at night. found they were very good when i went to SA. the only slight issue was when we were on a booze cruise and jumping off the boat in the sea as i had to make sure i took them out before as they would float off if i forgot to close my eyes! i wear them swimming, in the bath, sauna etc.. although the optician does tell me off for doing that!i pay £15 month for them and believe i get free eye tests and also get glasses for cheap (think i can get £99 ones for £39). thats with specsavers.

i really cant tell you how fantastic they are! like you i only wore glasses at work, driving and cinema. didnt really feel my eye sight was that bad but omg, i now realise how bad it was! when i walked out in them for the first time i couldnt believe i could see faces in the distance instead of being a blur and i can read the planner on sky :p

    Thanks Emz and Clippy :)

I had considered contacts but still not sure that would work for travelling? When I go to Africa in Nov that's only for a month so think that would be fine but not sure about when I go for the big trip we are planning as that will be for at least a year up to 3 years.

When I was in Borneo one of the girls there complained about the weight in her luggage of daily contacts and we were only there for 2 months, so I'm guessing they are quite heavy?

I wear daily disposables and I get them from Daysoft Contact Lenses. They are really well packed and a month's supply comes in quite a thin box and aren't that heavy at all.

I've always thought about trying the constant wear ones, but I think all the medication I'm on dries out my tear ducts so not sure they would be suitable for me. Might be worth a try for you though Beccie?

That doesn't sound too bad Emz. Will wait till after the consultation as pretty sure I would need an updated prescription anyway. I'm so hoping they come back with the cheapest quote anyway but if not then contacts are not sounding so bad after all :)

they are not heavy at all, only a few grams but i imagine if you needed 700 lenses they would take up quite a bit of room!

if you go for more than a year they may not be suitable as i dont think they would let you have that many without check ups. i have had mine 18 months and still have check ups every 6 months :(

Didn't know that Clippy :( Fingers crossed for a cheap lasering quote! :)

£210 towards paying back my brother today :)

Finally had enough Amazon vouchers (£80) to order a Fitbit. Skinniness here I come! :D

Hi Beccie, followed your diary a long while back and just stumbled across it again, you've done really well :) Not long left to go.

Good luck on rest of your journey off to resubsribe! :) Eh xx
