Hi MrsB
It's all vintage inspired stuff - lots of ribbon, buttons, lace, pearls, crochet and chintzy fabrics and papers. I am doing decorative wreathes, trinket boxes, bracelets, hair slides, bracelets, paper beads, brooches, fascinators and hopefully some button bouquets (although the bouquets rely on me not running out of time!).
I am doing the two craft fairs with my friend as her stuff is vintage look too - tea light holders, cake stands, earring holders and fabric pictures - so we think our stuff compliments each others.
I'm hoping to also get going with an Etsy shop with mine as well. Going to take photos of the stuff I do for the craft fair and offer those as custom listings to kick start things, while I try and get more things made.
Hoping, even if it takes a while, that I could make enough of an income to hopefully reduce hours at the pub, if not stop them altogether. I have worked at the pub for nearly 4 years now and am starting to get a bit sick of it! I love the customers and would continue to drink there but I am tired of working evenings and weekends. Hoping something like an Etsy shop/craft fairs would offer a little more flexibility.
Sorry, rambling now!Debt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0 -
That sounds right up my alley! I love vintage style crafts.
I used to make a lot of cards but now I mostly do scrapbooking for fun. I know how much of a £/time investment it is so best of luck with it - it'd certainly be more sociable hours for an extra income.Total Debt Sept 2010 - £24,132.38 / Current - £0.00/ 100% paid

I've never been good at cards! Did you use to sell them? Love scrapbooking too, just don't have enough time.
It defnitely is a bit of an investment! Time wise I don't mind so much as I love doing it, hours fly by in my craft room singing to the radioAnd if there's something on TV I want to watch I use the time to crochet, can I call that multi-tasking?!
It's money wise that's a bit more  Fingers crossed for it paying off!
I think it's do-able, just a bit of a learning curve in a lot of ways. I do feel all grown up now though that I have my own business cardsDebt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0 -
Hope you're giving them out to everyone!
I used to sell cards to friends and family - I had a little box that would do the rounds. I never really made any money though - it just kept me in supplies.
I do 6x4 scrapbooking now - 12x12 protective pages which are divided into photograph sized pockets. It's really quick and to whip up a little piece or just embellish a photograph.
Jealous of your craft room - it's on my list of requirements for our new house!Total Debt Sept 2010 - £24,132.38 / Current - £0.00/ 100% paid

I'm all ready to give them out at the craft fair - just need to get the listings on Etsy before I do as they have my Etsy shop link on there. It's quite exciting!
Your scrapbooking sounds lovely
Craft room is great - it wasn't easy to pry OH out of it though as it was previously a computer room
