It's always worth checking out the snowball Happy - then you know what you're up against :)

£1 to the loan today :) Will be next week before I can make some bigger payments again.

Left the dog unattended while we went to get the shopping from my Mum's last night - must have been gone 20 mins and he'd raided the kitchen bin and chewed up the contents over the living room, was not impressed!

Exactly 500 days left on the countdown to DFD! :D

When you put it as 500 days it sounds like no time at all :j
  • I did the dreaded snowball feb 2015 thats on minimum payments only however i have 29 k unsecured so probably less time since the secured could be counted as part of mortgage and once we come to sell it will hopefully clear that off :) i mean when i first started here in 08 i was 77240.29p the pence is estimate and no your eyes arent failing you ... its now 49 so nearly 30 k paid off isnt it .....and thats been majority of minimum payments.. i actually think i will vomit now christ i could have saved a good house deposit by now lol lol .... my moneys not my own ive had enough and its time to kung fu fry some numbers it didnt come here in a day nor is it going to disappear in a day but it wont be around forever :) xxx

2015 on minimums is really not bad Happy, and 30K cleared is something to be really proud of! :T

You're right - and it took me ages to get that when I first started - it took a while to get it so it will take a while to clear it too :)

  • The thing that upsets me most is that i dont know how its so big when i first had my lbm i was in aw of it we were managing to pay minimums but i realised we needed to wake up and smell the coffe instead of keeping up with the jonses i needed to be paying more than minimum payments on stuff..... its an awful realisation what damage can be done if you dont keep your eye on the ball of course its joing but still ... x

Mine's the same (especially when I take into account this isn't the first time I've tried to pay it off). When I added stuff up I could account for where about half of it had gone but not the other half :o Never mind all the interest as well!

The most important thing now though is that you are dealing with it. Doesn't mean it won't get you down sometimes (I still have my occasional crying sessions over it when I'm really tired from working and it seems so long to go still) but we will get there and just think how much worse it would have been if we hadn't had our LBMs xxx

I'm at home today as I've had the meter accuracy man come round. He thinks the meter is a borderline case for inaccurate so he is going to come back another day and fit another meter alongside the current one so that they check the difference between the two...the saga continues.....

I've been quite productive and the bathroom and the kitchen are cleaned. Although I'm about to go and mess the kitchen up again as I'm going to make the most of this free time and batch cook a chilli and a beef stroganoff.

Also might have to be a bit less productive and take the dog to the park for an hour or so and make the most of the sunshine! :)

Back to work :( I've had two whole days off in a row now. that and plenty of sunshine has made me a lot less stressed. Just a shame about coming back to work today and the rain!

Am awaiting a phone call from the electric people to go to the next stage with the meter thing. I am going to speak to them about changing tariff when they call. I'm quite annoyed as we called them before and said we thought we were on the wrong tariff and they wouldn't change it. According to the meter accuracy man we are definitely on the wrong tariff and it will be costing us a lot more. He said we wouldn't be able to change it till we have finished with sorting the meter - I don't see why we can't now if it will save us money and will be telling them that when they call!

    £12 to Lloyds :D
