    Hi Beccie

I wondered where you were yesterday. Sorry you don't feel well. Can you not take sick leave?

Can't believe that electric bill . I don't think our electric would even amount to that over 3 years (we pay about £25 a month). I really want one of those monitor things but I don't think Southern Electric do them yet. Really glad I don't have a heated towel rail now.

I hope you feel better soon.

Thanks Emz. I was on sick leave yesterday and literally slept all day till about 4:30 which I think helped. It's my own fault really - I have this silly guilt thing about not getting things done at work if I'm off sick.

We have been paying £50 a month. We are an all electric flat though don't know if that makes a difference? I think a large part of it probably stems from when we first moved in and were using the heaters wrong. Has yours always been £25? Would be interesting to know what other people are using so we can see how ours compares.

I bought the energy monitor a while back from Amazon for £35 as we're with SE as well and they don't do them yet. I can see us becoming slightly obsessed with it - I worked out this morning that me and OH use 14p of electric between us in the mornings getting ready!

We've got gas too which we pay around £20 a month for, so I guess it equals out. Although we're way in credit with the gas, but we're saving it for the winter.

Also, I think it helps that we have a new build flat and we are in the middle of 2 others so it is really economical with heating and stuff.

hi beccie, i pay £60 per month for gas and electric (not sure of the breakdown). however i think this is a bit much as i moved into my house in oct and they didnt take payment for the first month. even after winter and not paying a month i was still in credit by a small amount. i am just leaving it for now i think to build up a bit for winter but tbh judging by last year i think i will still be in credit!

i live in a 2 bed mid terrace with my lodger but the house is really warm so i only have the heating on a few hours each day. is strange as before i lived in a practically identical house and it was bloody freezing no matter how high/long the heating was on! i found a cert that said my house had cavity wall insullation so assume it must be due to that :)

    Thanks for the info :)

We have a two bed flat that is third floor (we are the top flat) but it is a conversion of an old printing house - so although the place is huge and really nice we do have rubbish old windows and big rooms to heat with rubbish electric heaters. Although we have only had to heat it from Nov to about Feb.

I don't think that OH helps as he does waste electricity - hopefully the energy monitor will help make him see sense :D

I'm working Saturday and Sunday but I will try to make an effort to at least get a couple of things on - I have been really bad recently and not really trying at all :o

    £100 to Lloyds today :)

Was a bit put out yesterday having worked both days off the weekend again, feeling ill and to top it off being yelled at by a customer...then I make an overpayment and it cheers me up again. How sad am I?! :D
