Stupid people have said that once an order is placed there is no changing it - even though I emailed them 30 seconds after the order had been placed, and according to the tracking info the parcel wasn't dispatched till the end of the next day! Note not to use that company again.
Got our letter over the weekend saying we can extend the lease on our flat which is good news - not so good news is £60 re-signing fee! For a bit of paper they print off!
Ranting over! Sun is shining and £1 sent to Lloyds
Morning Beccie
Boo to that website. Can you send them back once you get them?
And as for £60 . My renewing fee is £47 and I thought that was bad enough!! I hope they haven't put your rent up too.
Well done on the payment to lloyds and I hope you enjoy the sun.

I can send them back but think I have to pay too and also would then have to pay postage again to get the right size sent
Fingers crossed that they are a generous size 8!
No mention of rent being raised yet but am ready for it - I've never known them not try that! It's a lovely flat and I'd hate to move but I have a pre-prepared list of reasons why it's not worth paying more forDebt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0 -
Our renewal fee is over £100! I don't remember exactly how much but we made them do it for 12 months last time because I refuse to pay that every six months!
That's a shame about the jeans Becs, sizes vary in so many places that you might be lucky

Over £100  - that's ridiculous!! They should bring in some sort of guidelines to limit the amount letting agents can charge. I feel lucky that mines only £47 now.

It is evil isnit, £100 is just
Maybe I should ask them for a breakdown of costs for that £60 - you know 5p for the sheet of paper, 5p for the ink.......
Or maybe provide them with a breakdown of my costs for coming to sign it - £20 lost for the time off work, £2 in petrol to get to their office, £1 to park while going in to sign....and then ask if they want to call it quits?Debt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0 -
Go for it Beccie!!
I remember when I had to pay mine at the end of last year, I got the letter to say I had to renew by a certain date. So I went in and paid, but then received a second letter a few weeks later saying I hadn't paid and had to do it immediately or I would breach my contract blah blah blah. I rang them and asked what they were playing at as I had already paid, and she just said it was a standard letter and to ignore it.
How many vulnerable people do you think they get to pay again by doing that? It was quite a threatening letter and I can imagine an older person for example just going in and paying it again .

I had that with the TV licensing one once as well - I was paying my DD every month and they had made the mistake of adding my licence to the house down the road and they got really nasty saying I had to pay the full amount up front or they would come to my house and all sorts. I wondered then how many people would have given in and paid them it? I hate companies like that :mad:Debt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0 -
I'm thinking of quitting one of my cleaning jobs, what does everyone think?
On the plus side is obviously money!
On the negative side, I think I'm doing too much. Out of my 3 cleaning jobs I hate this one the most (big old house and the guy is a slob! I don't mind cleaning but I hate picking round crap to be able to do it!) I don't have as much time with OH as I would like and I also need time to clean my own flat (feeling guilty that OH does so much to support me working so much.)
Am I over thinking this because I'm tired and haven't had a day off in so long or would a cut back here and there in hours not be such a bad thing or am I just being a bit lazy?Debt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0 -
You are definitely not being lazy Beccie. You are one of the most hard-working people on this forum
.
I would say think it over, and if you still feel the same way in a weeks time, then let that job go.

Thanks Emz
I'm due there tonight so I wouldn't cancel at such short-notice anyway, leaving it a week does sound like a good plan xDebt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0
