i went curling in tunbridge wells this year and fell right onto my back like a tortoise. Good luck, and truely lovely idea x
saving up another deposit as we've lost all our equity.
We're 29% of the way there...
  • Hahaha twirly - we have all been there so I can sympathise with how sore it could be! I fell one day and everyone thought I had hit my head off the side barrier and were trying to physically hold me down onto the ice. I got out of that one with a bruised elbow and aris!
I know a few people that play out of that rink - we meet people from all over the world and stay in contact even if it is just the occasional FB comment!

lol Steph! I would say to batter on but I dread to think how many locals there will be crowding the viewing area that day as it's not been seen before and everyone is so surprised that someone is actually doing it!!!
We were talking last night about changing our date to the following month and have it the day before the competition that we actually met, then going on to it for our honeymoon - we wouldn't tell anyone there until we walked in at night with me in my frock and him in his gear. It would be like having another day altogether with our second family that we only see once a year!

I had some small heart shaped hand warmers - once you break the disc they last for about half an hour. I used to take a couple with me watching my son play footie and use one each half! They are reusable as well (until you let your OH drop a very heavy box on them, then they split open!)

That does sound like a brilliant wedding!

Are you actually going to slide down the aisle?
'Cos that sounds awesome. I want to do it!

Lala I would love to but there will either be boards or a carpet put down for the safety of the guests, and in particular the flower girls. I will defo stand directly on the ice to say I do and I will have my slidey sole on so that we can slide about afterwards to make for some fun photos! Dad wants to slide me down as if he were delivering a stone but think that might be quite difficult for me to do in a frock and guaranteed I would lose my balance and fall over!!!

Thanks for the link! It's something to consider but I think I will be more concerned with how cold my arms and shoulders will be! It will be the least amount of clothing I have ever worn on my top half on the ice but the bottom half will be roasting!

Must get a pic of my dress put on for you to see, the top layer of it is organza which has a glittery starburst design all over it - fits in with the icey theme perfectly! I just wish I could find a pic of it online!!!

:D That would have been brilliant!

As long as you get to slide around at some point. I can't even skate, but sliding is always rather fun.

That we will do Lala as I plan to get plenty pics taken on the ice!

I emailed my friend out in Canada the other night to see if she plans to come to our 'anniversary' comp in 2012. If she does I think we will change the date to the day before the comp so that she can come - then all we have to worry about is how to get her and all her luggage with us up the road!!! Must remember to have guests going back up that way that day!!!
Fingers crossed she can come as I would love her there! She is also getting married and I am just waiting on her to set the date so that I can get my flights booked as I have been told I am to organise her wedding aswell as my own! She wants a Scottish theme with some Hungarian mixed in - not sure how well that will work lol
