    Hi all,

Can I join your thread please? I am desperate....everything has gone wrong this year. I had money saved up for our 1 week away and had to use it to clear some arrears for OH as I panicked (stupid i know) and used the money up. but thats not why I have come on here. I started a new job about 3 months ago and I was working full time and everything ( and i mean everything) has fallen apart. The house I am ashamed to say is a pit, I have fallen off the wagon with regards to meal planning, batch cooking, baking etc and have been having far too many takeaways i feel

I am constantly being told by my OH that I am a rubbish wife/person with regards to houswork and I whilst I sit here, I am crying so much that I can just about see to type. pathetic isnt it?? I feel like I really need some friends right now. How can I get organised please? I have never really been organised really in my life and no matter how hard I try.....its never good enough for anyone. please can someone help me turn things around?

thanks in advance to anyone who can help

    JC x

First of all, welcome to the thread, everyone here is so helpful and friendly and will not judge you, do what you can, when you can, I find that when I get in from work, I just wanna flop on the couch and watch tv but I dont, when kids are having dinner I try and work on the list, if you are watching tv, during the ads, see what you can do, it will really surprise you!!! I found it difficult at first and thought "how the heck do all these superwomen manage this in a day" but my biggest tip is decluttering - it has been my saviour!! With regards to batch cooking, do what you can when you can, if you are making say chilli, then double it and freeze, I fell by the wayside through the summer with my batch cooking but I didn't beat myself up about it as the last few weeks I have been making lots of soup etc and doubling up for the freezer, its like hibernating for the winter :rotfl:. With regards to your:rotfl: OH, he should not be bringing you down like that and don't you dare let him get away with it, I don't my DH wouldn't dare say that to me, he does things off my list and sometimes (not very often) if I leave a list lying around he may pick some easy things to cross off :jhe works shifts and I work full time and have the kids most evenings so your marriage is a partnership!

Hello all, have come to join you if thats ok?? House has been a pit since may when the cold water tank burst and we had a huge hole in the living room ceiling. Everything from there landed in my bedroom, so am finally getting to grips with it all.....filled 4 bin liners wityh clothes too from there today, will head to the charity shop tomorrow with them.......need to stay on top of it now, as n0-0ne else thinks of cleaning when im at work doing 12 hour shifts plus 2 hours travelling time!

Hi Jools, welcome to the thread, sorry to hear about your water tank, perhaps its time you put your foot down and DELEGATE some tasks to your family whilst you are out earning for them!!! Leave lists out and tell them to pick one from each level!!! (Sorry don't know how many are in your household) you will receive brill support on here from everone and no-one will beat you up if you don't complete the lists, do what you can when you can, they come around every few weeks again anyway so if you have done it the first week, the next time it comes round you may not need to do it again, good luck x

    Evening all

Welcome Jools and Jasper. Tips - don't beat yourselves up about what you haven't done but celebrate what you have done. Everybody finds their own way for me it is:

Now I've got the place almost tidy keep it that way - makes the cleaning quicker and easier
Don't put it down, put it away - that's Vallis top tip
Find a home for everything and clear the clutter - that's Serena'a tip
Once you've got an area sorted aim to keep it that way and then move on.
Get in the habit of doing some things daily so that it doesn't build up (Just 15 minutes can make a massive difference if it is targeted)

    Good Luck!

    Tomorrow's plan for me:
    Dailies
Help friend prepare for school meeting
    Plant out crocosmia
Meet friend for cup of tea and bulb and lakeland orders
    DS3 diving
    Return Mother's phone call
    Check online banking
    Reply to some emails

I probably just need the motivation, tbh, dd does her own room, ds tries(!) to do his, not to my standards but i close the door, just need to clear the backlog, but on days off just hope to veg as much as possible recently.....have had 3 deaths in the past year, including my dad, and an attempted murder, so been busy keeping everyone else in one piece, so home has been the last thing on my mind! Am now at the stage i want to burn it all when i look! have done 3 rooms over the last 2 days, so nearly there!!!! just need to keep on top of it all really!

No flying done here yet today. Poor Rhys fell earlier and has knocked a part of his front tooth out and pushed the whole tooth back. He's not in any pain and we've been to the dentist. So DS 1 & 2 are in next month and Rhys will go to, just to check on the tooth. :(

W did exactly that when he was 2.5 and then just after Daddy died, he 'kissed' Mr M's floor knocking the rest of it out, a week before my sister's wedding! We looked a right sight all slumped on the floor blubbing, all wailing 'I want Daddy'. But he was ok abliet with a cute gap instead :rotfl: He now has lovely new big teeth to knock out

Talking of which, the tooth fairy needs to pay a visit as an incisor of his fell out this evening.

Woohooooooooo it was Monday this morning and then blow me down by tonight it was FRIDAY :j No work for me until next month :p :T:D:beer:
