Tia - If it were me, I would write a list of specific questions I wanna know answers to...
    Such as
Why are we repeating bloods today?
If levels are high, what does that mean?
What is the recommended course of treatment?
    If levels are low etc.....?

Dr's have a habit of not realising that because they deal with it day in day out, and inherently know what all these things mean/dont mean that to a parent this is an anxious experience, with no background knowledge and so we need information rather than vagueness....

Ask for an explanation of what all this means as to the effect on her body, if there is anything that can be done at home alongside medication such aschanges to diet etc.... Although that q would pobs depend on what they tell you is happening....

Dont be afraid to ask questions until you feel you understand, write it down as theyre talking if you need to.....

The blood test today is for liver enzyme levels. I want to know the results of the big blood tests they did in Yorkhill. Those are the ones I'm worrying about. Basically they were testing for things like cancer, liver disease, infections such as Hep A,B,C,D and I have no idea what else. Should find out for sure if it was a one off or a sign of something else.

But I just need to know if something has shown up in those blood tests so I can write a list of questions for Tuesday. And because the neurotic mother in me is a quivvering wreck.

    Better get ready to go!
  • CFAC that sounds like a realistic list to me :) My list of things I/we HAVE to do every day (so even if it is an at-work day I have to do before/after work) are;
    washing up
load washing in the morning and hang it up at some point before I go to bed
tidy up living room once Izzy is in bed
hoover any spills (I have a mini hand held hoover, so I can get up anything from lunch if needed)
empty any bins that are full

On days I'm not at work I try and do extra stuff (like actually cleaning things!), so I try and do the extra things before the essentials - sometimes once I've done the essential bits I never get on with anything else, so if I don't start them first I get more done iyswim.

This mornig I've put the washing on, cleaned out our food cupboard and started the break maker :) We've just got back from collecting a parcel at the post office. We have no playgroup today, so it is going to be a long long day I think!

    Now I feel bad :o

My challenge now is L has fallen asleep on sofa, and as I found him this morning in his cot on his face and at a 90 degree angle with his feet through the gaps in the cot side, I dont wanna leave him unsupervised to roll to certain injury LOL Hence me being back here.....:rotfl:

Ive managed washing up, laundry done, tumble drier on, and put laundry that was still in tumble drier (opps!) has been put away...

Only 3 hours till I can break out!!!:T

  • It's not a competition CFAC ;) (What does CFAC stand for anyway, I keep meaning to ask you!) It depends on your LO as to how hard it is to get stuff done. I did have a mega productive phase when Izzy was small enough to stay where I put her, then everthing got messy again for ages until she got a bit more independent (because I still needed to sleep when she was sleeping rather than using it as time to get stuff done). More recently she will play on her own for a little while, so I can get a few bits done while she is playing, but only things that I don't mind her helping me with or I can stop part way through. Cleaning the floor/oven/loo/whatever has to wait until DH is here or she is sleeping!

My daughter decided to give me a fright at 3.30 this morning:(

She did the most horrific scream! I jumped out of bed in the fastest speed ever and in my half asleep state in the dark to me it seemed she's just had a fit:eek: I obviously don't know if she did but have had experience of DS having them when he was little. I grabbed her out of her cot and cuddled her then she was fine:)

Even DH woke up... and the cats came running up the stairs to check on her too!!

We've just been to Sainsburys and spent an awful lot:o DH bought Daisy's 1st dress.... noooooooooooooooooooooooo!!! I don't do dresses!:p

There must of been a crash on way back as the main road we were on got closed and we were diverted. It was at that point I thought oh poo I hadn't took any baby supplies with us. Luckily we've got home before Daisy has woke properly.

    Off to catch up.......

That must have been such a worry!

Squeak has way more clothes than she needs lol OH gets over excited when he goes shopping on payday :o last time he came home with loads of hungry caterpillar stuff :D Told him if he's going to do that this month it needs to be in 6-9 months () she barely gets chance to wear everything she has in 3-6 :o

Apparently the buses are runnning round the village. That will be fun then, outside my house there is solid ice and compacted snow all over the road. can't see that where the bus goes further up and round the corner will be much different

Hope everyones snow starts melting soon (or not if you dont want it to!!)
