Don't know what it's like now but when I graduated (with a chemistry degree) there seemed to be a lot more demand for people with biochemistry than chemistry.

I was planning on doing an HNC in Biochemistry when I was 19, but the company I was working for would only pay for it if I signed a contract to say I agreed to work for them for the next 10 years. Knowing I was really desperate to start a family, I didn't want to be tied in for 10 years. They were not happy with my decision and I left soon afterwards as they starting being nasty to me to make me leave :o

Pleased they got back safely SS.

To everyone who is sick of being stuck indoors - get outside for a walk! Yes it's cold and it takes loads of effort walking through the snow, but it freshens you up and you feel great when you get back. Definitely worth it

Still stuck in here. Was out with the dogs about 4pm. In the next street, a lady had come home and couldn't get on her drive so men were digging and pushing the car in. Then another car tried to get out and got stuck, so they were pushing that one out of the street.

This is our street this afternoon, and we've had more snow falling since then! My car is the one on the right.

Benjamin looks so adorable there, MFD. So grown-up, too!

Yes, my lovelies, don't forget that slings are brilliant for carrying babas when a pram won't do. :) Also, they are warmer as both your body heats together make a toasty little burrito. You really only need to worry about slipping if there's ice - or just go out with someone else that you grab onto if you feel unsteady.

It was supposed to start heavily snowing this afternoon, but nothing so far. *shrug* wonder if it will happen overnight or if we're done for a while.

Aldi was dead, but there was no milk or bread (luckily I wasn't there for either!).

Christmas decorations have started going up! :T However I need to buy another extension bar before I can do the tree - this flat is seriously short on plugs.

    This is our snow:

I am SO glad we brought the sling with us. We have a lovely new pushchair from an :A but it got stuck in the snow and we had to drag poor Miss M backwards up a hill  The sling keeps her a bit warmer, and I figure so long as she's on my front rather than my back I shouldn't fall and squish her.

I saw a woman walking past today with a babba in an industrial TANK of a pushchair, massive wheels and huge heavy looking frame. I half expected to see a cow catcher on the front :rotfl:

Was it a distant relative of my big gay pram SS? lol... That thing can cut through snow like there's nothing there! (that's the only reason it's still in the cupboard... I'd be using it for the school run now if I was capable of walking on snow!)

Caz, I always use tinned custard cold, straight from the tin... Means you don't have to wait so long for your pudding to cool down before you cram it down your neck ;)

  • Exceptionally cute!!

Hubby is off out soon to watch wrestling at his mates Zzzzzzzzzzz Don't know what to do with myself. Fancy making either Baileys truffles or some fudge but my kitchen is very cold. Hmmm... Or maybe I'll continue to wrap the pampers hampers and print labels for reindeer poop, penguin poop and snowman soup. Decisions decisions.
  • Ooh, Bailey's fudge sounds good to me RB!

I am doing nothing constructive but instead lounging on the sofa in my PJs.

I'm very excited as I have a mystery parcel to collect from the post office tomorrow.
