  • Happy Birthday Henry.

Katie's playgroup is having a Children in Need day, however they only put the poster up yesterday when we aren't there, so she's not in spots but is wearing bright colours, need to take £1 and some other cash as they are making biscuits to sell too.

    Hugs SS and Molly

    MFD - enjoy your cuddles.

Fingers crossed, I think we can stop lifting Katie for the toilet at night, I've not done it the last couple of nights as a trial with no repercussions :)

Delain, my Sophie is a very loud, very wriggly bundle of mischief. She loves sucking her feet, and randomly yelling at everything.

How's Squeak doing? You certainly have your hands full (do you suspect they may be about to get more full?)

    I hope not!

Can't have any more I've run out of house now, Got no idea where squeak is going to go when she's bigger never mind another one :rotfl:

Apparently we can only get help with the rent on a 3 bed because I've got 4 girls, they say 2 to a room. The fact that DD1 and Squeak have an 8 year age gap and the room being 6ft by 7ft doesn't seem to matter :o

No it's just the anemia I think. Don't want to end up back in hospital really, don't feel as bad as I did last time but then I did get told last time by all the consultants that I had the lowest Hb they'd ever seen :p

Am due a blood test 9th Dec, if I feel it going down anymore before that I'll go back. At least they know my stomach is ok after the camera test, although I think that was the worst ten minutes of my whole life. Childbirth has nothing on it, and because we had car trouble OH couldn't pick me up so I couldn't even be sedated :(

well done katie mdw, i forgot to put a pull up on j last night and he went to the loo about 10ish and he still wet the bed.. he put a pull up on himself this morning and was pleased with himself that he'd not wee'd in it.. doesnt really count when you've already wet the bed tho lol!!

i need a serious makeover, my hairs a mess, my skins a mess, i just look rough.

    Happy birthday to Henry! x

Delain, it seems a bit crackers. Hope your anemia doesn't get too bad again.

Weezl, I'd guess lots of long life things like dried/ tinned pulses, canned fruits, baking stuff. Not sure what you use by way of baby products/ toiletries, but they're good to stock up on. Tea/ coffee (if you drink it). Even random things like socks and undies, kitchen foil, batteries, toilet paper. Don't forget some treats for yourself either, cos you work very hard!

My post made us sound like right scroungers didn't it :rotfl: I shold say the rents here are very high, and the house I'm in was a lucky find as its over £100 less per month than the going rate whicch is why we would like a bigger house but can't really afford it so no more little ones :o

Bulk buying: Sugar, loo roll, Coffee as Bexta says, washing powder/liquid, shampoo, washing up liquid/dishwasher tablets, and why not treat yourself to some new bedding or something? you can buy quite a lot of homeware from ASDA and I've found their cheapy sheets ok.

Susan sorry I missed you the other night. My stockpiling question is basically that I have put £288 on an asda christmas savings club card, that becomes £300 on Monday. The issue is that i need to use it by the end of 2010.

So I think I'm going to need to stockpile big stylee! And I thought you might be the lass to help with suggestions of what will keep. Storage space is not an issue and I have 4 free freezer drawers. Any of your advice welcomed :)
If you've got plenty freezer space, I'd probably go for some good deals on meat and freeze them. (But not four drawers worth of meat - even I've never been that excessive.) Depends on what you use but whenever there's grated cheese on offer cheaper than the smartprice stuff I stock up and freeze that too. I'd probably trawl the frozen fish aisle too.

Lentils, beans, rice, raisins etc. usually have a good shelf life.

Also non-food items can be good such as washing powder, dishwasher tablets, kitchen roll, toilet roll, cloths, washing up liquid, toothpaste, mouthwash etc.

And coffee and teabags are good to bump up your spend although I wouldn't generally massively stock up on them.

If I'm in the supermarket and am trying to spend £50 for a petrol coupon when I only went to get milk I would usually go for the following dependent on space and how much I already have:
    • listerene
    • dishwasher tablets
    • coffee
    • teabags
    • raisins/cultanas/currants
    • (and would go for lentils/beans/rice if I didn't usually bulk buy them else where)
If you usually get your nappies/wipes from there then they're probably a good one to go for too.

It's also worth thinking about all the little bits and pieces you only buy occasionally such as shoe polish.

And if your Asda has clothes, I'd check out the sale rails too.
