and does a swing need to be cemented into the ground or would that depend on the frame etc??

    Afternoon all..

I took the afternoon off work (love my boss - I asked if I could and he said "yeah, whatever"! :p) to get some stuff done round the house but been home for an hour and a half already and only eaten lunch :o

Rhys came out in a rash this morning. Doesn't seem to be bothering him though. Google tells me it's "three day fever", literally three days of fever then just as the temp drops (he was back to normal this morning) the rash appears, lasts 12-14hrs then that's it, all over  Perhaps not teething after all then! :wall:

We've had a 6ft black tree for the last three years with silver and blue decs. Bored of it now though, so we have a 4ft green tree to put on the table and getting red and gold decs for it this year :D

    Right, must get on...

Yep black one! Sami DD1 wanted an upside down as they have one in the really trendy hair salon :)

Mel Potty training DD2 who is 2 and half. She is doing great after me thinking she would never be out of nappies, DD1 was dry at 21 months.
i got mine in the Christmas sale last year from john lewis it was a a bargain :D

havent decided what to do about a tree. we have a small one from last year, that i can put up high but i'm also thinking that K should learn not to pull at the tree etc....or as DH said, let his parents put theirs up first and see what he does lol!!

    and....

if you had a swing in the garden, would you put it on the grass so would be softer to fall on, but muddier if rained a lot or on the patio bit??
Mine as a child was on the grass, you had to pin the legs down with sort of tent peg things (worst description ever :p) you can't do that on concreate

Ours says you should but we haven't. None of ours when I was a child were cemented in.

    thanks Susan,

am toying with the idea of getting K's aunt and uncles to club together and get him a swing/slide for the garden or a playhouse.

not sure what he'd get the most enjoyment from...he does like being on the swing at the park and a playhouse maybe better in a year or so when he can use his imagination etc to play in it.

  • Dora if you're about did you get a refund for the squeaky shoes that were out of stock last week, ive waited a week now, when i email them it bounces back from whichever account i use and when i try ringing the number i get a message saying shes out of the office till next week, ive just had to open a paypal dispute...

    How is everyone?

Had a nice day with jasmine today, went to playgroup this morning and then we went for a walk to currys (do u all know about the voucher thing they've got on?) got a handful of brochures, and walked home via a cafe :D

I think a swing would be better on the grass too x

Thanks JM, you just reminded me to email to request a refund for the shoes (we already have the alternative they offered). The email bounced back too - says "Mailbox message count quota exceeded" :( Will try again next week

Jillie i wouldn't get a big swing yet in case he's like Chris, he loved the swings until he was about 2yo then he decided he hated them and refuses to go anywhere near one

  • very sleepy hello - my boy is finally asleep after a bad night and grumpy morning (shock to the system really as he can be really quite good sometimes). Anyway, a legit moneysaving post :money:

Haven't really caught up but just popping in to say if no one else has that my local Mothercare had 20% of all toys (including discounted ones) today only if any of you had certain presents in mind for little ones. Offer also seems to be available online. Got some stocking filler type bits dead cheap :)

They also had Bambino Mio nappy packs (12 nappies, 3 wraps I think) reduced from 45 to 23 ish (sorry, no pound sign!) in newborn and small (up to about 16lbs I think) if anyone is using reusables (I'd have tried them if they had the bigger size reduced!). They're not reduced online so may just be my store - worth a look if you need them and are out that way.
