  • Always, if you tell the Dr you have no recollection of your LMP, they should refer you for a dating scan straight away... They did for me with DD1 ;)

I had very irregular cycles when I got pg with dd2 (BFP Janunary LMP September) and had no idea how far along I was but mw wouldn't refer me for an early scan - as it turned out I'd only conceived around xmas time so when I went for a scan at "12 wks" I was only just 9.
  • Maybe it depends on the midwife then... I know with Aimee I had an LMP of some time in April and BFP in July... She had a feel and said she didn't think I was that far along because it was still in my uterus, but referred me for a scan anyway... I had a scan in the August and I was 8 weeks along so they booked me another scan for 12 weeks too...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

My MW/hospital must be very mean with scans :-( The scan at 9 wks was rubbish but they didn't offer me another at 12wks - had to wait until 20. Even when I had surgery at 20 wks for appendicitis they didn't offer a scan to check baby was ok, even though there was a chance of miscarriage :(.

Looks like my AF has arrived 7 wks after giving birth :(.

How soon after having a baby can you have a smear?

I need to go into town to pay a few bills and my phone contract is up for renewal so might look for a new phone. Going to see my dad too - he has a stall on the market selling cakes, biscuits, sweets etc - I always come home with a few freebies :money:

TNV, Sophie has taken to doing similar to your little man - although she's BF. She shows all her hunger signs, but then yells or faffs about and won't eat. It drives me nuts, so that's probably not helpful to you, but he's not the only awkward littlie about.

Bananas and eggs smell gross (although both are yummy in cakes)

Does anyone use washable baby wipes? I've been contemplating how much I'm throwing away, and they make much more sense, especially just for a wet nappy. Did you buy them, or just use cheap flannels? Do you use a special solution? Thanks.

Me me me! There's a million and 1 ways of doing, so I'll just tell you what we do.

Bought some wipes off TheNappyLady (but honestly, they're same as mini flannels, so feel free to just buy some flannels and cut them up). I make a cup of camomile tea, throw in a glog of vegetable oil (the oil helps the wipes 'glide' over the skin smoothly) and couple drops of lavender or tea tree oil. Stir together, then put wipes into to soak. Place lid on and that lasts me roughly 2-3 days (so just in time, as any longer and they start to go manky). I THINK I have around 24 wipes and half go in at a time, so when they are finished and due for washing, I can make up another batch while the others are washed IYSWIM.

Works fab for us, saves a fortune. :D

The shoes may not all be lost, they have the nursery days in 4 and I think the Party Time in black in 5 - those are what I wanted originally but it said they had sold out? Not sure if I have misunderstood the mail but we will see :-)

I think replying and just asking what they have in the size you want is the easiest thing, I did that after the Nursery Days ones were sold out in Molly's size and she sent me the Party Red ones.

Had one at my six week check and didn't even notice it. They'd asked if I'd bring the baby for them to admire and since I was holding her she was squirming all over my chest and I had no idea what he was looking at.

Bexta I used cheap flannels for the first bit and disposable wipes when we were out.

Mine appeared after 5 weeks - was gutted! And I've since only had about 6 weeks without any kind of bleeding and my son is 19 weeks old :( Think it may be time for a pill change

As for a smear, sure if you're due one you can get one at your 6 week check, assuming everything looks ok. Think that's what my GP was saying though I'm not due one til January.

We got cheap flannels from IKEA. In the early days when they were needed more frequently I had a little tub of water in the bathroom to dip them in. (I actually had two tubs so I could use them alternate days so one was draining while the other was in use.) Once they weren't needed so much I started just running them under the tap (or in the case of a poo disaster filling the baisin with water and flannels).

For meals we use j-cloths or flannels (j-cloths work better and my mum gives me random things as Christmas presents). I hate wipes for meals - it's like one cloth or twenty seven million wipes because they're so small and don't work properly.

Aless, SS and Susan, thanks. I'm definately going to get some cheap flannels from £land when I go out. Don't know why it suddenly occurred to me how silly they were. :o
