Kitkat, it's probably nothing personal - we've not had the same one twice either (unless we're both horrible.....:p)
SS, sounds like a fantastic plan.
Susan  at the weaning stats. Madam's 4 months today, but I don't think she's quite ready yet. I don't want to force it upon her iykwim, but I can't say for definate that I'll wait until 6 months either.

I'm not ruling it out in the future Aless but at the moment I am sad and disillusioned with the state of academia.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

Bexta.. we must both be horrible!! LOL only joking!! I am not sure with weaning I would want to wait until 6 months, T is incredibly greedy now so I reckon he would need solids sooner, but if you feel S isn't ready yet, then hold off. Anyway.. don't wana be thinking about weaning... makes me feel like my baby is growing up too quickly!!
My HV seemed concerned how alone I was... she said that I need to mix with people more.. with my OH working away, and living in such an isolated area, she thinks I need to meet up with other mums.. I duno though...0 -
Evening all. Just thought I'd best say hello as I'm lurking, but I'm a bit zombified, so don't have much useful to add. Early night for me tonight I think.
Any news on amber, other than what was on FB earlier? ~get well Amber~ vibes heading in a northerly direction.

Kitkat if you can manage to get to them (do you drive?) mum and baby groups etc are a great way of meeting people. Even if you don't feel you NEED to be meeting people, it is good fun, and I think it is good for the little ones too, even if they don't play together at this stage. You might find you have to visit a few to find one that suits you though - they will all have different groups of people, and some times you just don't click iyswim
I would try going along because it will be fun, not because the HV said so

Hey, I see on the TV guide there's a show on Living tonight at 9pm called "Honey I Suckled the Kids" which is supposed to be about attachment parenting, BFing past infancy, co-sleeping, and EC. It's prolly sensationalist crap, but just thought I'd flag it for those interested.

I know it's not for everyone but I would agree with this.
I've made a really good RL Mummy friend through going to BF support group. It was a bit carp so we didn't go back but started meeting up for coffee and now we're really good friends. She has a baby boy 2 months younger than T and they love each other now. It's really nice to have someone to talk to who knows what you're going through. I'm finding the older T gets the more I need the company as well.
We go to a stay and play group on a Monday and swimming on either a weds or thurs where we're socialising with other Mums but haven't met anyone we get one quite as well with. She goes back to work in January so I've started going to Rhyme Time on a Friday and also Baby Massage as I need to get to know some other people too.
If you don't feel confident about talking to people (although I don't get that impression
) Then Rhyme Time is good because it is structured and filled with singing. I think you said T loved singing so he'll probably enjoy it. Mummy to Thomas born April 27th 2010 8lb 5oz0 -
While we are discussing tv, my Dad was on the one show on Friday talking about mushrooms - I'm about to watch it on iplayer (assuming it is still on there) - I'll let you know how far in he is!
