Maternity Allowance pays a standard weekly rate of £124.88 or 90 per cent of your average gross weekly earnings (before tax), whichever is the smaller.
MA is paid for a maximum period of 39 weeks.
Ah b00ger - I read that as 'whichever' is higher at first and I was like :j:j:j I am going to get 90% of my earnings for 39 weeks - I am gonna have a FOOTBALL TEAM!!!
Sadly not...but it is more than JSA isn't it? And I wouldn't have to trek to the jobcentre to sign on....;) sounds like easy money!!Same as SMP except you don't get the first six weeks at whatever percent it is of your normal pay first.
