Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! It's cold outside, I've been taking photographs and my fingers are blue.

Rainy, I Googled those boots, they are cute, very much like some Kate Moss wears.

I'm eBaying today and I've an old school friend popping by later, she lives in the Lake District and stays in touch via my blog. She loves to see the things I've photographed in the flesh, so to speak, soit'll be a massive trying on clothes fest later.

Name Your Blog - outfit posts are always good, don't be shy.

    Today's outfit:
1980's black jersey long sleeved body (Chazza shop £1)
Black opaques (Urban Outfitters dead stock via Banardos 48p)
1970's Black lace-up suede vintage knee boots (Car Boot £1)
1970's red, white and blue denim print front-buttoning maxi skirt (Via Helga)
Silver bangles, earrings and rings (India)
Huge silver key pendant threaded with a black satin ribbon (A man in a shop gave me for free yesterday)

    morning all,

Was in a negotiation meeting this morning- so the Matalan suit mae a reapearance and a VERY old black with white pinstripe stretch shirt - always a fave!

Will be changing later - but have soo much to do :(

My dad arrives today from Isarael - found out monday - thanks for the warning - better scrub the house and make up the spare bed!!!

Hope everyone has a fab day and enjoyed scraping the ice of their cars this morning - :)

    xx
  • Morning everyone (just) - I saw the ice on the car this morning and quickly dressed for warmth rather than style I'm afraid :o

    - Pink vest (H&M)
    - Green/cream patterned wrap top (Topshop sale about 4-5 years ago)
    - Boring black trousers (DP)
    - Boring black boots (Faith)
    - Two pairs of socks
    - Brown long cardie (picked off the candy floss I found on there from Saturday's trip to Blackpool!)
    - Plus the chunky black cardie I keep at work for emergency cardigan situations.

    Brrrr.

Alex, love the idea of putting fishnets over coloured tights!

    Morning!

Lovely, clear blue skies here this morning, just a shame its so chilly!

Not gotten dressed yet (so lazy) but I have nothing to do today so the little monster and myself are just staying snuggled up on the couch :rotfl:.

Sorting out my clothes later, need to organise some (warm) outfits.

Hope everyone is having a good day.

Cold here too today, but lovely and sunny at the same time. I think it's time the heating went on. I try to put it off as long as possible as once it's on, it's on for the winter. It's a cold house and takes about two days to warm up, so no point in putting it on timed. I'll have to send OH to pick up some coal for kitchen fire so it's there for when it's needed.

Got a couple of days off (downside is I'm working weekend) so I'm off to visit the next town along from us to do a bit of chazza shopping in a bit - haven't been there for a while so fingers crossed for bargains.
Outfit is navy & white 60s shirt dress by Wolsey (£6 Red Cross shop)
    Coral tights (£1.25 Boots)
    Tan 70s heels

Alex, lovely mix of colours for layering your tights - makes me think of Cadburys choc, the purple and brown!
  • Fingers crossed for the charity shops Jac!

I've just been looking around them myself and have made a deal with myself that if the stuff I like is still there on payday (Tuesday) then I'll treat myself.

I tried on a lovely pencil skirt (black with white polka dots, originally Topshop) but need some advice. I know the idea is that they emphasise your hips and bum, but should they emphasise them quite as much as they do on me??! My bot looks particularly 'curvy' from the side and I'm not sure whether it's a good thing or not! Also it seems to sit on my hips, whereas all the pics I've seen of pencil skirts, they're really high waisted. I guess it wouldn't matter if I wore a long top belted in, as you wouldn't see where it stops?

I really like the skirt itself but need to know I'll feel comfortable enough in it to actually wear it before I buy it! Help!

Tete - a pencil skirt definately shows off the hips and bum and if you've got it, flaunt it. Tuck a blouse inside the waistband and belt it with one of those wide elastic corset belts.

It's not a style I do, I think I wore it to death in the 1980's plus my hip surgery means my hips don't match. x

    Go for it.
  • I'm 'curvy' but I wear pencil skirts all the time. Yes, they emphasis your hips but they also make your waist look tiny and curves should be celebrated. Get it if you love it, it sounds wonderfully 'pin up' in style

Alizee - I love that outfit, shame the shirt is out of stock tho :(.

So proud of myself, I managed 1.5 hours of cardio in the gym and I don't feel like I'm about to keel over - :j.

Hmmm, I'm not curvy, I wonder if a pencil skirt would give me some curves? Or would it make me look more boyish?
