Douglas - you probably made the correct decision. I had family and friends stuck on that motorway. Some left work at 3.30pm and got home at 1.30am. That was going from Bathgate to Motherwell. Local traffic was horrendous also.
My outfit today is really boring. I need so more skinny jeans (brill for tucking into boots and staying dry - i hate wet trousers in this weather) but I can't get out to get any and obviously deliveries can't get in.
Gave in last night and put an old double duvet on top of the mattress - so warm and cosy. Now I just need heated slippers and i'll be fine!
Hope everyone else is coping with the the weather.Make £10 a day challenge (August) - £175/£3100 -
Well I am staying here again tonight, been down to Asda and bought a pair of chocolate brown jeans, and a pack of pants. Plus some snack pots, primula cheese and a tub of ben and jerry's. Someone gave me a sleeping bag as well and I have a tonne of tea and soya milk and cereal. Been on the phone to Phil at least she made it home OK. Her work colleague is holding the fort at her work (but they do have a sleep room, kitchen telly etc.).The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

yikes i don't envy you, douglas!
at guides last night the girls were talking about what they'd like to do next term - a winter camp..errr, seriously?! they spend most of the evening in the hall complaining it is cold! i don't think it's something i'll be given much consideration to until the weather has picked up a lot!!0 -
Wow douglas, that's scary. My nurse was telling me her grandparents are totally snowed in a remote village with one food shop that's had no deliveries for four days
It's so cold here, about -6. I've been told to stay in, and I'm happy to oblidge! Got a bit of a kick up the bum in this morning's appt, trying to get back on track now!

omg douglas that sounds terrible! Poor you, I would hate to have to sleep in work.
Is pretty cold here today, and we had loads of snow and sleet last night which has frozen, so all the streets are sheets of ice and so dangerous to walk on. The amount of people falling about when I was walking into work there was unreal!
So dressed again for comfort and warmth rather than style:
jeans
brown short sleeve t shirt
purple v neck soft jumper
grey and red cardigan
white converse
plus the hat, scarf, gloves, coat etc!
Looking all in all not very stylish but warm so I don't care. But one thing I don't get is when it's such bad weather, I mean all the streets in Belfast are pure ice, why do some women insist on walking around in high heels or stilettos?! Surely they don't have much grip on themcarpe diem

hehe, those are pretty awesome PF.
Not sure if i'm imagining it but its been feeling a bit warmer here today i think. Still icy though - the snow just doesnt seem to want to leave and the slush from where people have walked keeps freezing over again.
Bartz maybe stilletos work like ice picks and stop you slipping. Worth a go (not)
Doug that sounds horrible being stuck like that. Best to stay there and be safe than try & brave the roads though.
today wearing
long sleeve tshirt, long sleeve grey & black printed dress, hoody, grey skinny jeans, boots, grey coat, multicoloured blue scarf, ear flappy hat
And i was WARM! yay!
